
León, Gto., February 28, 2017. In the framework of the second Festival of Arts, Sciences and Humanities, at the Museum of Art and History of Guanajuato, Dr. Luis Felipe García y Barragán, director of the Department of Psychology of Campus Leon of the University of Guanajuato (UG), presented his talk: "Pedro y el lobo en el siglo XXI: Medios de comunicación y el uso de las emociones para influir en la sociedad". The talk had the objective to show the media along the XX & XXI centuries, managed the emotions to reach their objectives.
In an interview, Dr. García commented: "the media wants to change our attitudes and behavior specifically, the way we should avoid this situation is using the critical thinking, analyzing, evaluating the information we receive and discern if it is real or not, or if it still is relevant or not."
In the second part of the program, the talk was given by Dr. Gonzalo Soltero, Dr. Claudia Chibici and the professor of Cultural Studies of Campus León, Dr. Tarik Torres, where they addressed the topic "Literature, genders and degenerations."
The purpose of this encounter was trying to find where fiction is the reflection of a real fact and the real as sometimes pollutes the world. They also addressed the topic of gender equity and economy, and the everyday work to eradicate this social problem.
Dr. Tarik Torres commented about the importance of the Festival: "the opportunity this kind of festival gives, is to observe how distinct disciplines, institutions are converging in concerns that may appear dissimilar, but at the end they coincide", he finalized.
