cine-club-de-la-ugGuanajuato, Gto., a 7 de marzo de 2017.- The Movie Club of the University of Guanajuato (UG) will be the first venue in Mexico of the Best Sci Fi International Film Festival which will be held from March 7 to 9 at the Auditorium Euquerio Guerrero.

Movie Club's coordinator, Montserrat Alejandri, highlighted that this festival is going to be held for the first time in the world and it focuses in the genres of science fiction and fantasy.

The initiative is composed by 12 films from different countries such as Spain, United States, Croatia, Israel, among others.

Among the films, stands out the Israeli film "The rats dilemma". This cinematographic production tells the story of a talented Jew physicist named Rudolph who, amidst the Holocaust, he is forced to construct a tele transporter for the Nazi.

Rudolph buys time telling Heinz –his supervisor—that the machine doesn't work yet, but then he starts suspecting that the physicist is hiding something and is decided to get the truth by any mean. Rudolph soon has to face the dilemma of his life.

Some interesting facts about this film is that it was filmed in a real bunker secretly constructed by German architects in Israel in the 50s, and today is deserted. This is the first fiction film made in Israel that really takes place in the Holocaust.

Although the plot is about German characters, the dialogue is in Hebrew. This is the first time that a Nazi character speaks Hebrew in a film production.

The Best Sci Fi International Film Festival will be viewable for three days with two projections at 18:00 and 21:00hrs, times where they will present the 12 films.

The entrance is free. For more information and full program, please visit: www.extension.ugto.mx
