Guanajuato, Gto., March 8, 2017.- Next March 12 is the last day for the students to register their projects in the "UG Summers" program, an initiative of the University of Guanajuato (UG) to encourage among the students the taste for the scientific activity.

Whomever is interested may present a research project in any discipline of knowledge, where they will work for five weeks. The main objective is to ease the youth the approach to scientific research by developing a stay with active UG researchers.

The students can participate in real project, where they can also present the stay's results in an Institutional Congress, mentioned Emma Reséndiz, Coordinator of the program "UG Summers".

Also, there was an invitation for more students to sum and make something different in their summers, since it is not only about an academic experience but an experience of life which will boost the personal and professional development.

When they finish with their research stay that lasts from June 8 to July 27, the student will have the opportunity to publish an article in the magazine "Jovénes en la ciencia".

In an interview, some students have participated in several editions of "UG Summers", they commented that is a unique motivation that has helped them define their future as researchers. The summers are aimed for students in different universities of the Mexican republic and abroad, also high school.

Antonio Hernández Ávila, graduate of the Universidad Autónoma de Nayarit and student of the Master degree in Constitutional Justice of UG, said that participating in "UG Summers" opened possibilities to continue with a postgraduate. "my project was of political science and for that reason, I decided to study a master degree at UG and link to both national and international research."

Jessica Ávila Hernández, graduate of Electric Engineer at UG, told that she participated three times in "UG Summers" with projects about developing technology for breast cancer treatments and diabetes, and motivated the students to participate, because the knowledge acquired goes beyond the ordinary classes.
