Guanajuato, Gto., March 9, 2017.- The Symphonic Orchestra of the University of Guanajuato (OSUG) will participate in a concert in the first edition of "Barroco. Ciclo de Música."

OSUG's concert will be on March 24 in the Teatro Juárez at 20:30hrs. In the baroque cycle, OSUG offers a program dedicated to the music of the great Venetian master of the XVIII century, Antonio Vivaldi. The soloists who will participate are Erik Bosgraaf, one of the current superstars of the baroque music in Europe, as well as Wei Hung.

The cycle was announced in a press conference, where they main flutist of OSUG, Cuauhtémoc Trejo, thanked for this type of events linked with baroque music, since this, besides being splendorous beautiful, offers an interesting historic analysis, where instrument creators, musicologists, historians among other professionals participate.

The renowned organist José Suárez, spoke about the importance of using the organ at Valenciana during the cycle, since it is an instrument form the XVIII century, an organ that sometime was abandoned until it was restored and now is one of the greatest treasures of the city.

"Barroco. Ciclo de Musica" is composed by six concerts where the public will enjoy international musicians from different countries such as Italy, Germany, Taiwan, Netherlands, United States and Mexico.

In addition of the concerts, there will be academic activities since there will be conferences: "Aspectos de Johan Sebastian Bach" of José Antonio Robles, with the reason of the birth anniversary of the German musician, and "El Español de México en el Quijote, sobrevivencias barrocas", in charge of Alejandro Salafranca.

The cycle will occur from March 16 to 25 in different venues as the Iconographic Museum of Quijote, the Temple of San Cayetano in Valenciana, Teatro Juárez, just to mention some.
