
Guanajuato, Gto., March 9, 2017.- The fourth edition of the Festival Dialogues of the Dance organized by the University of Guanajuato (UG) through their Direction of Cultural Extension, from March 13 to 18 will be held in different venues such as Teatro Juárez, Teatro Cervantes and Plazuela San Roque.
That was announced in a press conference where the collaboration of the Instituto Cultural de la Cultura (IEC) and the Dirección de Turismo of the city with UG stood out, to create quality cultural events accessible for everyone.
This time, the dance will be the main character of a series of presentations and workshops in the festival which this edition is dedicated to the teacher Guadalupe Trejo, who in 1973 founded the dance workshops in at UG. Trejo formed several dance training and practice groups, which resulted in the Free Forum of Contemporary Dance in 1984, representative university group of this discipline.
The Director of Cultural Extension, Dr. Sara Julsrud López, thanked the support from the state and municipal institutions to create dance presentations, workshops, artistic expositions and functions of the Movie Club.
Susana Oliva Bustamante, representative of the participating groups showed the program. Dialogues with the Dance will begin with the inauguration of an expo who tells a historic background of Guadalupe Trejo's achievements, on Monday March 13 at 15:00hrs in the first patio of the Meson de San Antonio.
Among the events that will be presented, stands out "Fandango en rojo" of the Company México en Movimiento led by Amalia Basanta Hernández in Teatro Juarez next Tuesday March 14 at 20:00hrs in the Teatro Juárez.
Likewise, there will be an homage for Cervantes from the Contemporary Dance group of the School of Scenic Arts of UG, led by the teacher Silvia Salomón at the Plazuela San Roque, on Thursday March 16 at 20:00hrs, as part of some of the activities.
Regarding Movie Club, they will project films of the eighth edition of the Itinerating Festival of Video-dance "Agite y sirva", also, the movie "Loves of Isadora" of the director Karel Reisz. Regarding the workshops, they'll teach contemporary dance, choreography and classic ballet.
Guadalupe García Chávez, coordinator of the artistic groups of UG, thanked all the collaborators, participants and institutions that make this festival continue.
Likewise, the director of artistic diffusion of IEC, Rodrigo Jiménez Escalante and Director of Municipal Tourism, Salvador Alejandro Jaime Arroyo, agreed that is necessary to link institutions of Guanajuato to strengthen and continues with its function of being the cultural destiny of Mexico.
