Guanajuato, Gto., March 14, 2017.- With the purpose to promote culture and art, students' development and the high-impact cultural projects at the University of Guanajuato (UG), there was a presentation of the program "Compañia de Artes" (Art Company).

An initiative of Campus Guanajuato who seeks to stimulate the artistic community of UG, with musical and scenic arts proposals, which will be led and negotiated through the company.

UG's General Rector, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, highlighted that the "Compañia de Artes" is an indispensable tool for the comprehensive and transversal development of the students at the House of Studies to achieve its transcendence, which also promotes multidisciplinary actions towards the most nobles works of humankind, art.

He remarked that having an Art Company represents a great joint effort from years ago, "I wish for this project to be a mirror for all the university community to reflect ideas, imagination and creative proposals".

Dr. Teresita de Jesús Rendón Huerta Barrera, Rector of Campus Guanajuato thanked the efforts of all the scholars, professors and students who participated in the execution of description and be part of the company, which conjugates several talents from Campus Guanajuato to generate first level creative proposals which will be projected locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.

Dr. Anuar Jalife Jacobo, project's overseer, indicated that the Company seeks "to be a space where students, professors and researchers, dedicated to the creation and artistic representation in general, to participate."

On behalf of the students, the student of the major in Scenic Arts, Isabel Gutierrez, mentioned that this project is an opportunity for students to access and discover their emotions through their creative work.

Currently, Campus Guanajuato has numerous groups and cultural activities with different results, that go from the institutional ambience to the international.

In this horizon, it is necessary to generate a transversal project, such as the Art Company, that conjugates, supports and orients the efforts of different artistic disciplines.

At the presidium, were also present the Academic Secretary of Campus Guanajuato, Dr. Claudia Gutiérrez Padilla; the Director of the Division of Architecture, Art and Design, Dr. Francisco Javier González Compean; and Dr. Salvador Salas as another project overseer.
