Guanajuato, Gto., March 14, 2017.- The successful business woman and social activist, M. Ana Artascoz Sastre, this Wednesday March 15 will give a workshop to students at the Division of Economic-Administrative Sciences (DCEA) of Campus Guanajuato of the University of Guanajuato (UG), within the program of Economic-Administrative Seminars coordinated by Dr. Adriana Aguilera Arrieta.

Dr. Aguilera explained that Artascoz is invited by DCEA's Direction, overseen by Dr. Claudia Susana Gómez López, to be part of the seminars and give a workshop for the professors and another for the students, where she will share her entrepreneur experience under the topic "Discover another way to make business".

In an interview, M. Artascoz observed that in Mexico and Latin America, there is a change that privileges the concept of social help to the less favored, be that through Non-Governmental Organizations (ONG) or creating help bases in a business model that allows to generate income and offer a real job opportunity.

To be an entrepreneur, she said, it is important to not only detect which are the people collectives that need this help to get access to a job, but detect the un-discovered needs of the market and generate the encounter between these factors.

Such is the case of the business "Moltacte", of M. Artascoz, who reminded that she decided to be an entrepreneur the moment the Spanish crisis began, visualizing that the purchasing power of the people was going to reduce; so, she and her partners thought in outlet clothes, meaning, clothes from the past season.

They approached the textile companies that every season generate reserves and don't know what to do with them or where to sell them so it doesn't wear the brand.

To solve the problem, next to the need of the clients to buy quality products at a low price, besides hiring –in its case—people with a mental disorder, they created the business model that has been successful for the brands, businessmen, employees and clients.

M. Artascoz recently knew the University of Guanajuato, but the first impression is that is the neuralgic center of the city, hence, the role of the university community is very interesting to generate initiatives for the capital.

She mentioned to be enthusiastic to be able to talk with more than 400 students on the alternative of social business, with the main idea to talk about the potential they are, and beyond talking about her business, is to share the experience hoping it to be inspiring, "a shiny little light that lets you see it's possible and who think this project is possible, go forward".

Moltacte

M. Artascoz and partners founded the business "Moltacte", which has several branches in Spain, which employs people with a psychic disability and severe mental disorder, such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorders. They sell clothes reserves of known brands and it has very successful.

Artascoz is a Master in International Cooperation for Development and a major in Economic and Business Sciences of the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Currently, she is the Commercial Director of Communication and Marketing of the Social Business Moltacte, from which she is a founding partner.

Through the ONG Intermón Oxfam, that works in development, humanitarian action, fair trade and sensitization, has been to Maghreb and West Africa, Bolivia, Paraguay and Brazil, Latin America, Great Britain and representative of Intermón Oxfam at the Spanish Coordination of ONG and in the Committee of Liaison in Brussels, among others.
