The welcome words were given by the Division's Director, Dr. Alex Ricardo Caldera Ortega, who explained the relevance of this kind of collaborations with experts in different sciences, that allow a global panorama of how contemporary public policies are analyzed.
Once the colloquium was officially inaugurated, Dr. Mario Bassols Ricardez, of the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana Unidad Iztapalapa and the Centro Interdisciplinario de Estudios Metropolitanos (UAM- I/Centro Met), made an analysis of the most relevant work of the writer Thomas Mann, the Buddenbrook, and pointed that the definite success of this work led to a Literature Nobel prize.
In his audiovisual presentation, he showed a synthesis to show the attendees significant details about the synopsis of the work, reflecting the author's capability to recreate, by just reading, the situation of the time, from the social to the architectonic aspect.
Afterwards, two interinstitutional panels were held; where experts in different areas talked on how the cities transformed and generated an unequilibrated balance, result of the public policies with faulty planning.
