Guanajuato, Gto March 24, 2017.- The University of Guanajuato (UG) received from hands of the Director of the Mexican Society of Interior Designers (SMI) A.C., Architect Luis César Sánchez, the formal appointment as educational member of the non-profit society who links professionals, academics, suppliers and interiors media in all the national territory, affiliated to the International Federation of Interior Architects (AFI).

The previous was announced during the Ordinary Assembly ENIDAM (National Schools of Interior Design, Design and Architecture of Mexico) at UG, where there will be work journeys with the mean to increase the knowledge and comprehensive formation of the students to attend specific needs of the habituality and sustainability, accompanied by aesthetics.

At the opening ceremony, UG's General Rector, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, assured that the University has the responsibility with its students to generate skills and competencies that allow them to face any situation in the international and national context, and with the challenge to accompany the student in the formation, they propose activities for their professional, academic and social growth.

He reminded that the Department of Design at first was at venue Belen and the former General Rector, M. Cuauhtémoc Ojeda, decided to create the new venue Los Santos, with the purpose to provide the school of design a worthy space for its growth, which now Dr. Guerrero Agripino assured was an important institutional decision, since he affirms that every disciplinary area of the house of studies are important and transcendental for society.

ENIDAM's President, Architect Daniel Zaragoza Pérez affirmed that this association has created to integrate the university doing to improve the life conditions of the human being and this collaboration with UG allows to enrich the academic and professional formation with the use of technology, innovation and creativity.

Representing the Rector of Campus Guanajuato, Dr. Teresita Rendón Huerta, the General Coordinator of Academic Development, M. Gabriel Alejandro Andreu de Riquer, mentioned that the students have the university's support, to generate in them skills and efficiently answer social problems, teamwork, and with abilities to make homes places of continuous wellbeing.

Finally, the Director of the Division of Architecture, Art and Design (DAAD), Dr. Francisco Javier González Compeán, manifested that the purpose is to increase the knowledge in the students by giving plurality of ideas that emerge from this event. He reflected about the conceptions of design that influence in society to create worthy, sustainable and aesthetic spaces.

SMI was founded for young professionals in every generation in 2003 at the Franz Mayer Museum of Mexico City. The society was admitted by IFI as an associate professional member on September 30th, 2005 in Copenhagen, Denmark; this society knows and acknowledges the effort from all the actors in the industry of interior design in Mexico and the exterior through their contests.

During this assembly were present DAAD's Academic Secretary, Dr. Maria Isabel De Jesús Téllez García; the Director of the Department of Design, M. Concepción Rodríguez Argó; and the Coordinator of the Degree in Interior Design; M. Araceli Arroyo Rodríguez.
