Guanajuato, Gto., March 28, 2017.- Teachers of HS Guanajuato participated as speakers in the XIII International Congress of Focus based on Competencies "Modernización de la Educación y Diseño Curricular" (Modernization of the Education and Curricular Design), held in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia.
The purpose to attend the congress was to share the concrete experiences towards the optimization and innovation of the academic formation processes that are focusing in the competencies in the different educational levels.
Representing the University of Guanajuato, the teachers M.E. Elvia Tomasa Sosa Vergara and Dr. C.I.Q. Beatriz Eugenia Rubio Campos, participated as speakers with the work "Competencias disciplinares que desarrolla el alumno en el laboratorio de Física."
The objective of the talk was to show the generic and disciplinary competencies the student develops, by using a didactic prototype to make a laboratory practice of the learning unit of Physics III, called "Fisitorca", this tool allows to explore, touch, the laws that rule the phenomenon of the Second Condition of Equilibrium and at the same time encourage in the students the taste for science, accessing the significant learning.
For M. Sosa Vergara, attending the congress "allowed me to know up close a part of the educational reality that some Latin American countries live today". Dr. Rubio Campos mentioned "this experience has been very enriching, since it allowed me to know the proposals of the Latin American colleagues toward they are improving and innovating the formation processes by competencies in all the education levels, social organizations and businesses."
Finally, they recognized the need to change the traditional focus of the teacher who transmits, to the focus that allows the student to be the leader of his or her learning and the academic formation with a comprehensive view, with social responsibility and excellence, oriented to a collaborative work.
