Guanajuato, Gto., a 29 de marzo de 2017.- The renowned artists Nunik Sauret, sustained the University of Guanajuato (UG) and the work of the state's artists constitute a referent in the international level in graphics, reason why she called to recognize the pioneers in the area.

Nunik Sauret participated as a speaker within "Woman and Art, Views from the artistic discipline", which was held at UG. She mentioned "this University, in the Department of Plastic Arts, is known by graphics, nationally and internationally. I think we must continue, because Guanajuato has been an important milestone outside the country."

The engraver and painter, member of the Academy of Arts of Mexico, considered that "us as teachers we forget to teach the young who opened the gap", hence, she exhorted to retake the artists who have been important for the culture of Guanajuato, while being questioned about the graphics panorama in Mexico.

She was surprised of the number of workshops and young people who are in it. The most relevant, in her opinion, is that they're not sponsored by the state, they private and collective, which allows to work and share in commune.

In her conference, she referred to the way she discovered the Japanese techniques, which occupy an important part of her work and research. "I realized that these techniques are more accessible to the young" because they don't require a machine, just a table to work."

Specifically, about the Japanese stamp, she said, she found this in a few-hour course, something she was looking for and has become fundamental in her work. It was a three-hour course, "the learning has been on the path", she revealed.

About her development as an artist, she spoke about the influence of the Movement of '68 and the feminism. Entering at young age to the Art School of Bellas Artes –at 15 years old—she was forced to question who she was, "and from those questionings I started doing my work", she told the public.

Nunik Sauret has been a scholarship holder of the Program System of Art Creators 2017-2019, of the Fondo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes, is renonwned internationally, has received scholarships and awards in Mexico, Yugoslavia, United States and Canada, her work is appreciated in museums and institutions around the world.
