Salamanca, Gto. March 31, 2017.- The traditional festivities in Mexico, with its religious and pagan mix, will be exhibited by students of the University of Guanajuato (UG) creators of the short film "Éxodo", during the Guanajuato International Film Festival (GIFF) to be held on July 21-30.
Directed by Erik Rodríguez Alonso, the film participates in the short film contest in the category "Identity and relevance", which reflects the way in which the parties in Mexico are done. A traditional party has a series of events and specific guidelines that people comply with certain motives, although may the people be aware or not of it. The party covers two basic human needs: feed the spirit and flesh. Needs that apparently can't be satisfied in the same event.
The creators of "Éxodo" are students of the University of Guanajuato, who converge the talent of the majors in Digital Arts, Business Management and Musical Composition, it means, a multidisciplinary team that arduously prepare through courses and workshops in cinematographic topics, research, argument, structure, language, production, photography, sound, edition and post-production, taught by experts in the cinematographic industry.
It is a great pride to represent UG, is what the young talent team represents, which is formed by Verónica Pérez Ireta (production), Gloria Montserrat Vargas Razo (executive producer), Juan Martín Morales Gómez (photography director), Froylán Ávila (photography assistant), Juan Manuel Gallegos Télles (still photography), Julio Ulises Santos Cortés (direct sound), Daniel Alejandro Pérez Aréchiga (sound mix and design), Marco Antonio Barrera Berdeja (graphic design and community manager) & Mayra Viviana Gómez Gómez (public relations).
The contest "Identity and Relevance" has the objective to form new generations of national filmmakers, uneasy and interested to tell their traditions and stories of their communities, and by doing so, strengthen the regional identity in the youth and its relevance in a land rich of history.
GIFF occurs every summer in the cities of San Miguel de Allende and Guanajuato Capital, to be witnesses of a cinematographic event without precedent, held in the most emblematic places such as tunnels, alhóndiga de granaditas, or the majestic Teatro Juárez.
