
Yuriria, Gto., April 3, 2017.- The venue Yuriria of the University of Guanajuato (UG) sustains its leadership in scientific divulgation in the southeastern part of the state, as host of the First International Congress of Optics and Electronics.
The academic event gathers researchers from institutions such as l'Université de Liège (Bélgica), the Centro de Investigaciones en Óptica, the Laboratorio Nacional de Óptica de la Visión, the Instituto Politécnico Nacional, the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, the Universidad Autónoma de Zacatecas, the Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo and from the very own University of Guanajuato.
The InOpEC 2017, held from April 3 to 5 at the Department of Multidisciplinary Studies, sums 20 presentations of research and 4 practical workshops aimed for students that have manifested their interest in these disciplines.
Whilst inaugurating the congress, the Rector of Campus Irapuato-Salamanca of UG, Dr. Armando Gallegos Muñoz, mentioned that the venue Yuriria of this campus, has distinguished by setting the path in making academic events for the discussion and diffusion of the scientific progresses that propitiate innovation, considered the productive transformation tool throughout the country.
He invited the students to be in constant interaction with the guest professors, since they are experts which will ease the comprehension of topics such as fiber optics and its applications, the optical characterization, the nanostructured systems or the infrasonic waves.
Dr. Eduardo Cabal Yépez, Director of the Department of Multidisciplinary Studies, pronounced to be seeking for a greater approach among the students and researchers of the participant institutions, with goals to achieve cooperation liaisons.
"The divulgation of science has the purpose to share the most recent discoveries and generate awareness that science is active and developing faster every day", commented Dr. Geovani Hernández Gómez, representative of the organizing committee, while adding that this congress is a space to generate new ideas and encourage the formation of new researchers.
At the beginning of the InOpEC, they also had the presence of the Director of the Division of Engineering, Dr. Victor Ayala Ramírez, who recognized the effort for planning and negotiation of the professors of the Department of Multidisciplinary studies.
