Guanajuato, Gto., April 4, 2017.- The Bivalent Baccalaureate (BB) of the University of Guanajuato, is a flexible educational program designed with a profile by competences for the comprehension of the national and international environment.

This baccalaureate has the objective to form high school technicians with a high sense of social responsibility, specialized in mechatronics or science of materials, biomedical sciences and sustainable chemistry. This initiative allows the students to continue in their degree studies in the referred specializations, as well as to insert in the labor market of the companies that demand a better trained profile.

This was announced in a press conference in the High School College (CNMS), where the CNMS' Secretary, Dr. Jesús Raúl Lugo Martínez, highlighted that the students who enter the program have the opportunity to make academic exchanges, six-month stays in national and international institutions, learning foreign languages, intercultural fairs, observation or transnational business familiarization visits, among others.

To the event, attended the directors of the high schools from the cities where the bivalent baccalaureate is offered: Leon, Salamanca and Guanajuato.

The director of the HS Centro Historico Leon, M. María Eugenia Ibarra Rodríguez, highlighted that they have the specialty in Bio medics and as second language they promote French, in addition of the tight link with the Division of Sciences and Engineering, specifically with the higher educational programs: Bio medics Engineering, as well as its postgraduates, where the high schoolers can approach to advisories or collaborate in research. The students from HS Leon also have this access, as mentioned by their director M. Sergio Romero Servín.

The director of HS Guanajuato, M. Juana Silvina Galván Rocha, indicated that the specialization area in the school is Science of the Materials, where the students learn to appropriately handle chemical substances to participate in the industry's processes and adequately operate the analytic equipment and instruments involved in the chemical industry that contribute in the quality of production. As a second language, in addition of basic English, they teach Japanese, so the students may have the possibility to make international stays in Japan.

HS Salamanca also has international agreements with educational institutions in the rising sun country, and has the specialty in Mechatronics, where the students learn to operate and program manual or automated machine-tools that allow productive agile and reliable processes, as mentioned by the director, M. María Teresa Sánchez Conejo.

To finalize, the university authorities invited all the interested to approach the Bivalent Baccalaureate and highlighted that the graduates of this program have the competences in diverse technological areas to incorporate as technicians in productive sectors, mainly in the automotive, metal mechanic and plastic industry, which are the main economic agents in the state of Guanajuato.
