Salamanca, Gto. April 5, 2017.-Students of the university of Guanajuato (UG) who participate in the Guanajuato International Film Festival (GIFF), announced a crowdfunding campaign to conclude the filming of the short film "Éxodo", which contests in the category "Identity and Pertinence".
The documentary, directed by Erick Rodríguez Alonso, shows the traditional festivities in Mexico that feed the flesh and the spirit. For its realization, the students have filmed several festivities in Irapuato and Salamanca, but require widening their filming to other cities.
Starting from April 10th and for thirty days, whoever is interested in supporting the young filmmakers can enter the Kickstarter platform, where the independent creatives present their projects and can receive donations starting at 100 pesos.
The donators will receive official merchandise, exclusive material of the short film, receive a copy of the film or be associate producers. The college students expect to raise $30,000 MXN with this crowdfunding campaign.
The director of the documentary, next to the production crew composes by Digital Arts students, Business Management and Music Composition, informed that the reproduction of the film takes six months and the premiere will be on July 16, contesting with other 5 finalist schools.
"Éxodo means moving a complete town, but a festivity resembles the procedure: all the town goes to the church and then to eat", mentioned the director, when he added that they have half of the recordings required to finish the documentary and need support to cover the expenses of production and transportation, so they expect to receive an answer from the aficionados of the seventh art.
The team has prior experience in other films. The team is Verónica Pérez Ireta (production), Gloria Montserrat Vargas Razo (executive production), Juan Martín Morales Gómez (director of photography), Froylán Ávila (assistant photography), Juan Manuel Gallegos Télles (still photography), Julio Ulises Santos Cortés (direct sound), Daniel Alejandro Pérez Aréchiga (sound mix and design), Marco Antonio Barrera Berdeja (graphic design & community manager) and Mayra Viviana Gómez (public realtions).
