Guanajuato, Gto., April 29, 2017.- On the eve of Children's Day, it was held the first edition of the project #UGNIÑOS, with the topic "dream, study, reach your goals", where young college students shared their time with elementary students to whom they showed them that it is possible, with effort and study, to reach your goals and become professionals, such as they are doing it right now.
Around 40 students from the majors in Economy, Public Administration, Civil Engineering, Mine Engineering, International Trade, Industrial Relationships, Chemistry, Arts, Quality and Productivity Management, Tourism, Education, Psychology and Accountability among others; took laughter and enthusiasm to the little ones at the elementary school "Alhóndiga de Granaditas" of the Community El Coyote, located in the South Zone of this city.
Students and teachers of Campus Guanajuato of the University of Guanajuato (UG), were welcomed by the principal, M. Ma. De los Ángeles García, who informed that in this school, formed by six groups, attend 124 little ones mostly from the community El Coyote, but also some from San Pedro and Galeras.
She revealed that unfortunately these little students have a lot of negative influences in their environment, but the school has become neutral grounds where they overcome their lacks and learn how to improve.
Hence, she profoundly thanked UG for the opportunity given to the little ones to know other environments, other life forms and motivate themselves to continue studying.
Luis Fernando Hernández Rivera, President of the Board of Division of Economic-Administrative Sciences (DCEA) and one of the leaders of project #UGNIÑOS, who also this time wore the UG BEE Mascot suit, commented that it tries to return to society what the University has given them, and vowed for this project to continue and extend.
The institutions who encourage this project are: Actitud Joven, KAIZEN, KAAB, Quiubole UG, DCNE Board, ANEIC (Asociación Nacional de Estudiantes de Ingeniería Civil), OALCI (students from the major in international trade) and Diálogos, who are backed institutionally by the University of Guanajuato through the Coordination of the Encouragement for the Comprehensive Development of the Student of Campus Guanajuato, led by the Engineer Luis Eduardo Calderón Rivas.
The idea of the students was to motivate the new generations in vulnerable situations, to see school as a mean for personal and progress development, and awake the children in the flame of hope so they directly or indirectly find their calling. They managed to establish a fraternal dialogue between college students and low-income children, to who the students were a life role-model, in addition of supporting with school supplies for their maximum use.
