Guanajuato, Gto., May 3, 2017.- With the joy generated by the music of "Las hijas de la guayaba" and "Los Garambulleros", began the artistic festival "Espiral: Foro Universitario", an event created by students of the University of Guanajuato which reaches its eighth edition.

Many people gathered at the Plaza San Roque with the intention to enjoy a mix of music genres that distinguishes this fresh proposal from Guanajuato. El joy wasn't only left in intention, since the public was vehement and participative in the call of "las hijas de la guayaba y los garambulleros" to have a pleasant evening.

From sones jarochos accompanied by zapateados, until the experimental improvised music, as well as funk and cumbia, the group inaugurated with their music, one of the university festivities which with time has become an important forum for artistic expression.

Likewise, the musicians managed to touch the audience with jazz and rock, a singular mix accompanied by lyrics inspired in stories and legends of Guanajuato. The audience expressed their enthusiasm by listening the ensemble, some were dancing and others were clapping to the rhythm of several instruments such as jaranas, guitars, flutes, percussions and voice.

At the end, a long applause sent away "Las hijas de la guayaba y los garambulleros" whose music "creates, destroys, proposes and shares a sound, a language, music."

It is important to mention that "Espiral: Foro Universitario" concludes next May 12, and this time is dedicated to two great writers and intellectuals of Mexico: Juan Rulfo and M. Eugenio Trueba Olivares. In addition, they will have the presence of the Universidad Veracruzana, the Academy of Arts Cologne (KHM), Germany, and the Universidad El Bosque de Colombia.

During the University forum, there will be outstanding events such as a "Cycle of emergent pianists" a "Firs encounter of milonga callejera" and a concert with the "Ensemble of Latin American Music of UG".
