León, Guanajuato May 5. 2017.- With the purpose to unify the three branches of Contemporary Physics: cosmology, particles and strings; the Division of Sciences and Engineering of Campus León of the University of Guanajuato (UG) holds an event titles "Mexican Cosmology Particles and Strings Schools" (MexiCOPAS) from May 2 to 12 at the Central State Library WIgberto Jiménez and the building of the Division of Sciences and Engineering of Campus León.

The school emerges as an initiative from academics of the Department of Physics and with support from the National Council of Science and Technology (Conacyt) for its acronym in Spanish, with the background from other schools such as the Mexican AstroParticle School (MAPS), the 4th edition of the Mexican School on Strings and Supersymmetry (MSSS) and the First Edition of the Mexican AstroCosmo-Statistics-Schools (MACSS).

Parting from the mentioned schools, it was decided to join the three of them in a single event, derived from the intersection points among them.

In an interview, Dr. Juan Barranco Monarca, professor-researcher of the Department of Physics, informed that this is MexicCOPAS' first edition, being the first event of its kind in the country. They are hoping to create more editions of this school intended for students in the last semesters of Physics and related areas, postgraduate students, as well as young researchers. He added that the program has talks for all audiences with topics such as Cosmology and data bases, String Theory and High Energy Physics in Mexico.

"We want the audience in general, to know that first level physicists are in Mexico, and can also identify how the scientific method helps on how to do things through a hypothesis, test and result, to live better". He also mentioned that this kind of events wish to form students and introduce them in avant-garde topics so in a future they carry the baton and continue with their research lines.

The event expects to receive near 150 students from several states of the Republic such as Zacatecas, Sonora, Ciudad de México, Veracruz, Hidalgo, Baja California and Guadalajara.

The UG researchers who are part of the organizing committee are: Alma González, Luis Ureña, Gustavo Niz, Luis Alberto Diez, Mauro Napsuciale, Argelia Bernal, Óscar Loaiza, Nana Cabo as well as Juan Barranco, among others.
