Guanajuato, Gto., May 11, 2017.- With the intention to encourage and divulge the creative writing in the student community of the University of Guanajuato, there was an award ceremony in the Contest of Literary Creation of the University Forum Espiral.

Every year, "Espiral", the artistic festival organized by UG students, has an open invitation for all the educational levels of the academic institution, to send poems, stories, and essays to a literary contest.

This time, the topic of the texts focused in the work of Juan Rulfo, as the base to generate new creations with similar topics, and at the same time, texts that were in the post-revolutionary context of Mexico could also participate.

One of the main reason of the eighth edition of "Espiral" is to commemorate the birth centennial of one the most internationally renowned Mexican writers, Juan Rulfo, reason why, they encouraged the diffusion and encouragement of the literature in high, higher and postgraduate education levels.

The members of the jury were two academics experts in literature; Dr. Claudia Liliana Gutiérrez Piña, and Dr. Rogelio Castro Rocha, who read the presented texts and choose the winners.

The first place in the story category from high school was for the HS Guanajuato student, Ricardo Yáñez with his work "El gallo". In poetry, there was an honorific mention for Leydy Arlett Villanueva Tapia of HS Celaya for her creation titled "Post-revolución y evolución".

In the College category in the story modality, the first place was for "Las palabras del general" of Carla Anabel Torres Castellanos, student of the 6th semester of the major in Spanish Letters of Campus Guanajuato.

The second place was for the student of the 8th semester of the major in Culture and Art, Jorge Omar Martínez Muñoz, with his story, "El hombre de la navaja" and the third place was for Ricvardo Chávez Hernández of the 10th semester of the major in Spanish Letters, with his work "1968".

Regarding poetry, the first place was for "Ambigüedad, silencio y absorción" of Ricardo Chavéz Hernández of the last semester of the major in Spanish Letters. The second place was for "Cachorros" of Ricardo Galván Murguía, student of the 6th semesters of the major in Spanish Letters and the third place was for "Si la justiciar existiera", an homage to the story "Diles que no me maten" of Juan Rulfo, written by Diana Laura López Lara, student of the 4th semester of the major in Industrial Relationships.

Finally, in the postgraduate modality, the story that obtained the first place was for "¡Vamos al Parián!" of Maria del Socorro Márquez González, students of the second semester of the Master degree in Arts.
