
Guanajuato, Gto., May 19, 2017.- High School students from Salamanca and Silao participated in the regional contests organized by the National Association of Universities and Institutions of Higher Education (ANUIES for its acronym in Spanish), in oratory and short films, held in Guadalajara, Jalisco.
Students Iker Alejandro Aldecoa Rendom of HS Salamanca and Edgar Eduardo Mata Mendoza of HS Silao, represented the University of Guanajuato (UG) in the oratory contests, where they competed against students if the Western Central Region (RCO for its acronym in Spanish) of ANUIES, of Jalisco, Nayarit, Hidalgo, Colima, Aguascaliente, San Luis Potosí and Guanajuato.
The professors who supported these students were Prof. Leticia Sepúlveda of HS Salamanca and Prof. César Augusto Troncoso, of HS Silao.
It was a great experience for the students to have participated since it is the first time is made official, reaching this stage was possible thanks by completing eliminations in the first and second place of the Institutional Contest of the High School college held on March 15 this year.
The winners of the Contest "UG en Corto", held last February 15th, were the students from HS Pénjamo. For them to contest with students from RCO it was an enriching experience, in such participation they displayed their creative abilities in filming, production and postproduction when making the short film.
The HS Pénjamo's students led by M. Mario Oleg González, as their advisor, and in collaboration with the team of the System of Radio, Television and Hypermedia of UG, they took this opportunity to portray themselves in the Movie Forum of the University of Guadalajara; the students who participated in the short film "Control Mental" were: Fátima Lizbeth Ortiz Lopez, Esteban Cortés Solís, Natalia Ibirubitzu Ramos Cornejo, Daniela Zuleyma Rodríguez Rodríguez & Daniela Alcocer Cosino.
Finally, the CNMS's Academic Secretary, Dr. Jesús Raúl Martínez, representing the Director of the School, Dr. J. Merced Rizo Carmona, accompanied the students in their participation who he congratulated for reaching this competition and representing UG in the first event of ANUIES' Western Central Region.
