concierto-osugCiudad de México, México., May 25, 2017.- With a repertoire that allowed the attendants to approach the contemporary music and please with cult composers, the Symphony Orchestra of the University of Guanajuato (OSUG), offered an extraordinary concert in the Nezahualcóyotl Hall of Mexico City.

Under the conduction of their director, M. Roberto Beltrán Zavala, OSUG began this musical journey with "Las mujeres de Pénjamo. La marcha de las rehenes", of the composer Javier González Compean, whose music has been executed in places such as: Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Munich, Minsk, Paris, Strasburg, Madrid, Santiago de Compostela, Bergen, just to mention some, captivated the audience.

Right after, the orchestra played "Lucretius tragicus" of the Mexican composer Jorge Torres Sáenz, who the specialized critic has remarked him for "the integration in his language of different languages as the carnal modes of India, or certain traditional techniques of the Imperial Court of Japan, with the most depurated contemporary and orchestral composing technique."

Both plays that were played in the considered "the most important hall of concerts in Latin America", were written as a special request to OSUG regarding its 65th anniversary.

Likewise, the listeners enjoyed the "Concert for violin op. 64" of the German composer Felix Mendelssohn; accompanied by the outstanding Spanish violinist Francisco Fullana, he recognized that "it has always been one of my favorite plays. Every time I get on stage to play this piece, I try to teach the public the way it makes me enjoy and try to communicate the youth and joy of Mendelssohn, almost innocence."

The passionate execution of Francisco Fullana, made the audience vibrate who responded with a standing ovation, when he played the first movement of Sonnet for violin no. 2 of Eugene Ysayë to thank the warmth reception of the listeners which granted a second ovation acknowledging his brilliant execution.

Fullana was pleased to play with OSUG and emphasizes "the precise technique of the winds and strings, the way they have to listen and the crucial leadership of Roberto Beltrán, together they make of this orchestra, a great one."

To finalize, OSUG played Dimitri Shostakovich Symphony no. 5, described by the author as a "lyric-heroic symphony, his main idea is the emotional experience and the triumphant optimism of men. He wanted to show how, defeating a series of tragic conflicts, due to the intense fight that violently agitates the human soul, the optimism as conception of the world is born."

At the end of the concert, the audience cheered the Symphony Orchestra of the University of Guanajuato in recognition for the great evening they offered in the Nezahualcóyotl Hall, located in the University Cultural Center (CCU) of the Universidad Autónoma de México and whose presentation symbolized the brotherhood between both institutions that share their commitment for the democratization of culture.

To the concert attended the General Rector of the University of Guanajuato, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino; the Rector of the Universidad Autónoma de México, Enrique Graue Wiechers; the Director of National School of Higher Studies, unit Leon. From UNAM, M. Javier de la Fuente Hernández; as well as Dr. Enrique Ruelas Barajas.

It is important to remind that this concert sets the start point for the tour of the Symphony Orchestra of the University of Guanajuato in Europe, whose first presentation will be on May 29th in the Principe Felipe Auditorium in Oviedo, Spain.
