Here, they analyze –from a visual perspective—the different modes researchers listen, observe and construct the musicians and melodies.

This exposition had the participation of fourteen researchers from eight countries, reason why it is a promising and multidisciplinary bet, in which you can visualize the contrast of the traditions depending on the temporality and the region.

The inaugural ribbon cut was made by Dr. Alex Ricardo Caldera Ortega, Director of the Division of Social Sciences and Humanities. Then, there was a round table titled "Disjunctive towards photography as a work tool in musical research", which had the participation of Dr. Natalia Bieletto, Dr. Maricruz Romero Ugalde, Dr. Christian Spencer Espinosa, Dr. Alejandro Martínez de la Rosa and Dr. Luis Omar Montoya Arias.

During the opening of the table, Dr. Bieletto, coordinator of the exposition and professor-researcher of the Department of Cultural Studies of UG, mentioned that besides highlighting the aesthetic and utility content of each photograph, the participants agreed to take the risk of considering not only musical evidence, but a history that supports the construction of what the researcher wants to see.

Dr. Romero, an expert in audiovisual ethnography, mentioned her experience as a dancer, in which she lived the essence of music. Her participation was structured by five challenges focused on the registry of audiovisual media. The first was focused in all that wonders is a social-historical construction, the second addresses the technological challenge applied to the use of new devices, followed by a third which is the production of original material in dialogue with the people who register; the fourth refers to understanding the ways each person represents and lastly, raise awareness that we live in a globalized market.

Afterwards, Dr. Spence, professor of the Division of Social Sciences, referred to the concept of photography, which for him it has a double denotation: field work and what is outside the field work. He described this an instant narrative of a cultural practice, a moment of participation between subject and object.

Dr. Martínez de la Rosa, Director of the Department of Cultural Studies of Campus Leon (UG), assured that, although music and photography are perceptible from different senses, they are directly related. At the same time, he assured that photography captures the temporary execution of the fact, which is there are characteristics that will help narrate relevant matters that the researcher must contextualize. Hence, it is visualized beyond what is captured, since it can print the instruments, tradition and costumes of a specific moment.

Right after, Dr. Montoya, historian and post doctorate of the University of Guanajuato shared part of the research he made for his thesis, which he had to adapt where he lived; deciding to analyze the phenomena that come from the "narcocorridos" in Culiacán, Sinaloa, as well as the dances and parties that come from this music genre.

To finalize the presentation, the attendants had the opportunity to question about this gallery, which will be present until May 27 in the lobby of the venue Forum of Campus Leon.
