León, Gto., June 21, 2017.- With an outstanding international presence, Dr. Ramón Castañeda Priego, professor-researcher of the Division of Sciences and Engineering of Campus León of the University of Guanajuato (UG) gave a Physics seminar called "Colloidal dynamics in restricted geometries", in the Lorraine University, Campus Metz, in France, also, he will participate as a speaker in a workshop called "Rheology of gel Networks" in Lyon; France, where he is the only Mexican participant.

Through an interview he informed that this workshop corresponds to "an initiative from different researchers of the European Community and United States to gather professors dedicated to study non-equilibrium aspects of the condensed matter. This activity is part of the set of workshops that are carried throughout a year in the "Centro Europeo de Cálculo Atómico y Molecular (CECAM)".

Currently, Dr. Castañeda is making a sabbatical in the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), in Gaithersburg, Maryland (US). This is one of the most important research centers of the United States, where they make high-level basic and applied research, which is confirmed with several Nobel awards in Physics and Chemistry.

At the same time, together with the members of the academic body of Statistical Mechanics, to which he belongs to, is working in scientific research projects in Physics-Chemistry and auto-assembling systems in academic collaboration with Dr. Marco Laurati, Dr. Marco Heinen and Dr. Alejandro Gil-Villegas Montiel, all of them are part of the Division of Sciences and Engineering, whom interact to develop experimental methods and theoretical and computing approximations to make a molecular description of the matter, and understand its non-equilibrium properties, topic –assures Dr. Castañeda—of world interest because it represents technological and scientific applications.

Between the use and applications of these study materials, research source of these scholars, are found in the paintings, food, medicine, drug development, as well as the energy sector, in the case of petroleum.

He commented that for August, he was invited to give a talk about soft condensed matter in the International Congress of Postgraduate Students in Physics in Canada, Mexico and United States in Washington, D.C., then in October, he was invited by the National Congress of Physics in Monterrey, Nuevo León, where he will talk about Statistic Physics.

Another event he'll attend –in 2018—is the Gordon Research Congress on colloids and polyelectrolytes in the city of Ventura California, where he will participate as a representative of the Themed Network of National Congress of Science and Technology (CONACyT) "Soft condensed matter", network in which several UG scholar actively participate.

Dr. Castañeda extended an invitation to his peers to generate research with international impact and work for more and better conditions to develop this kind of research.
