
Guanajuato, Gto., June 20, 2017.- Under Dr. Brigitte Lamy Archambault's coordination, the works of the Research Seminar of the Interinstitutional Program of Doctorate in Architecture (PIDA) were carried on, which gathered more than 70 students of Mexico, Colombia, Argentina and Dominican Republic.
The seminar was held in June 19 & 20 this year, in the venue Belen of Campus Guanajuato of the University of Guanajuato (UG). PIDA has the international competence recognition of the National Council of Science and Technology (CONACyT) and it is the only National Postgraduate of Quality Programs (PNPC) in Architecture in the country.
Representing the Rector of Campus Guanajuato of UG, Dr. Teresita de Jesús Rendón Huerta Barrera, Dr. Claudia Gutiérrez Padilla, Academic Secretary, inaugurated the works and highlighted that for the institution, it is a true honor to receive participants of PIDA.
This seminar, she said, has become in the venue of the most innovative forms to address the problems of use of the constructed space, as well as the vanguard in research on architecture in the country, due to its importance that has acquired throughout these 15 years, since its beginning in 2002.
This doctoral program, highlighted Dr. Gutiérrez, was a pioneer in its kind in the center-west region of the National Association of Universities and Higher Education Institutions (ANUIES), and since then, UG has been represented and proud to say that has made important contributions in each one of the editions.
UG's Department of Architecture is one the most traditional, setting the bases for large and important research in their field of action but also preparing in the process, a good number of generations, architecture professionals, she added.
Finally, the Academic Secretary reminded that the origin of PIDA was founded in an alliance of Universities from the center-west region of ANUIES which, uniting their resources and competences, offer a program today that reaches the highest quality standards, to which she decisively attributes its basic academic core, integrated by doctors with sound formation and large experience in the field of architecture research.
Dr. Mauro Napsuciale Mendivil, Director of Support for Research and Postgraduate of UG, and President of the Interinstitutional Committee, reminded the attendants that they work in the framework of guidelines agreed by the six sister institutions that form the center-west region of ANUIES: the public universities, in which the faculties, rights and obligations and clearly defined for each part.
As president of the interinstitutional committee, besides recognizing the effort and achievements they had, he invited to maintain their act in the framework of the general agreement for academic cooperation; he welcomed and thanked Dr. Brigitte Lamy for accepting the responsibility to lead the efforts of all the institutions, which fills UG with honor and responsibility to carry out all the work in this normative framework.
PIDA's Seminar program focused in the topics of architecture and environment, architecture and heritage and city, which was held on Monday 19 and Tuesday 20 in the venue Belem. In it, participated scholars from the Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes, of Colima, Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo and UG. The classes were given by professors from United States, Brazil, Malaysia, Uruguay, Spain, Italy, Germany and Argentina.
At the ceremony were present Dr. Francisco Javier González Compean, Director of DAAD and who welcomed the attendants; Dr. María Isabel de Jesús Téllez García, Academic Secretary of DAAD, and M. José Moya Santiago, Director of the Department of Architecture.
