León, Gto., July 1, 2017.- With the intention to plan collaboration projects between the University of Guanajuato (UG) and the Department of Health of the State of Guanajuato, Dr. Daniel Díaz Martínez; Secretary of Health, visited the facilities of the venue San Carlos of UG's Campus Leon.

The visit covered the tour of the facilities of Medical Tower and the Bioterium building, active constructions which will benefit the student and academic community of Campus Leon. The medical tower possesses 19,000m2 and the fourth level is currently under construction which holds ten laboratories of research and teaching.

The project will consolidate with the creation of a health cluster where the educational programs of the three academic division that form Campus Leon will intervene, these are the Division of Health Sciences, Division of Science and Engineering and Division of Social Sciences and Humanities, who summed with the new General Hospital being built next door of the venue San Carlos, the Bajio's High Specialty Regional Hospital, the Pediatric Hospital of Leon, the State Center of Blood Transfusion, the new clinic of the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) will create a health cluster.

During the session, Dr. Carlos Hidalgo Valadez, Rector of Campus Leon, mentioned the transcendence of the project which has been in formation for quite a long, and at the end of the year, they expect to be finished. Also, he exposed that they foresee the first level of the medical tower to be destined for health services to the public, which can complement with alliances throughout the health institutions that surround that zone in the city of Leon.

Likewise, during the tour, he gave two units of the book "General Surgery Treaty" so it could be part of the bibliographic category of the University of Guanajuato.

At the reunion were present: Dr. Jorge Alberto Romero Hidalgo, Secretary of Management and Development of the University of Guanajuato; Dr. Francisco Javier Magos Vázquez, General Director of Health; Dr. Luis Carlos Zúñiga Durán, General Director of Sanitary Risks; Lic. Fernando Reynoso Márquez, from the General Administrative Coordination of the Department of Health; Dr. Tonatiuh García Campos, Director of the Division of Health Sciences of Campus Leon of UG; Dr. Pablo Campos Macías, Director of the Department of Medicine and Nutrition; Dr. Elia Lara Lona, Coordinator of the educational program of Medical Surgeon and Nutrition and the Architect Jorge Meza Rangel, Coordinator of the Unit of Infrastructure and Maintenance of Campus Leon.
