Guanajuato, Gto., August 3, 2017.- With a vast participation of national and foreign researchers, began in the University of Guanajuato (UG) the International Symposium "Environmental Metarhizium Biotechnology", with the intention to form a network of researchers that liaises academy with the corresponding authorities in addressing the plagues in agriculture.

The symposium will be held on August 3 & 4 in the "Euquerio Guerrero" Auditorium, organized by the Department of Biology of the Division of Natural and Exact Sciences (DCNE) of Campus Guanajuato of UG.

Representing UG's President, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino; was Dr. Mauro Napsuciale Mendivil, Director of Support for Research and Postgraduate, who congratulated the organizers for this encounter where they will develop the elements in every chain from basic research to applications, meaning, social satisfiers.

Likewise, on behalf of the Rector of Campus Guanajuato, Dr. Teresita de Jesús Rendón, M. Gabriel Alejandro Andreu de Riquer, General Coordinator of Academic Development, wished all the success to the participants and felt sure that open communication between the academy and public and private sectors, will answer the social needs.

The technological development came to stay, he sustained, and it is a fact that from sanitation to mining and agriculture, the impact of research is deep, hence, he committed the full support of the university authorities in this symposium.

It was the turn for Dr. Agustín Ramón Uribe Ramírez, Director of the Division of Natural and Exact Sciences (DCNE), to welcome the researchers, whose plans in plague control, surely will have important repercussions in the economic development in our regions.

Dr. Juan Carlos Torres Guzmán, Dr. Israel Enrique Padilla Guerrero and Dr. Gloría Angélica González Hernandéz of the Department of Biology at DCNE are responsible for the symposium.

Among the participants you can find Dr. Michael Bidochka from Brock University, Canada; Master in Sciences, Gabriel Aviña of the Instituto Tecnológico del Valle de Guadiana; Master in Sciences, Hugo Arredondo Bernal, Vice-President, and Dr. Roberto Montesinos Matías of the Centro Nacional de Referencia de Control Biólogico de SAGARPA.

Likewise, Dr. Jesús García Pereyra of the Insituto Tecnológico Valle del Guadiana; Dr. Israel Enrique Padilla Guerrero; Dr. Eduardo Salazar Solís, and Dr. Juan Carlos Torres Guzmán, all from the University of Guanajuato, Dr. Jorge Contreras Garduño from UNAM and Dr. Sergio Sanchéz Peña of the Universidad Autónoma Agraria "Antonio Narro".
