Guanajuato, Gto., August 4, 2017.- To answer the needs of a growing community, such as the one from the Division of Life Sciences (DICIVA), the division opened its doors to the temporary exhibit showroom, located in the Ex-Hacienda San José El Copal, which is part of a much wider project of space remodeling in such venue of the University of Guanajuato (UG).

After making a tour through the ex-hacienda, and know the progress of the work in the incinerators and the laboratory of bromatology of the Department of Veterinary, which will be responsible to study the food and its relationship with sanity, UG's President, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, recognized the team who negotiated the resources and works for this work to be completed.

At the same time, he acknowledged that these works are possible because of the support from the federal and state governments and legislators who support the proposals of the university to finalize constructions and start new projects.

By referring concretely to Campus Irapuato-Salamanca, the President said that it has a great development plan, which "as all great university projects, it has a great focus, which is the liaison with society", reason why he highlighted the impact of the university in the community El Copal.

In his message, the Rector of Campus Irapuato-Salamanca, Dr. Armando Gallegos Muñoz, also referred to the social mission of the institutions, which includes taking culture to different audiences, so he trusted that the habitants of El Copal "make their own" the spaces and artistic expressions which will be promoted by UG through the new showroom.

He also highlighted the increase in the enrollment in the venue El Copal, which now has more than 2,200 students, as well as the impact the laboratory of bromatology will have when it starts functioning, which will benefit students of the program of Veterinary and Zootechny Medicine; and will be used to develop research and service projects.

The Director of Infrastructure and University Services, M. Eloy Juárez Sandoval explained the progress of the works, hence he informed that the inaugurated spaces are part of a bigger project of remodeling spaces in the ex-hacienda, where the Museum of Earth Sciences and the DICIVA's Historic Gallery will be installed.
