
Celaya, Gto., August 4, 2017.- To recognize a world class researcher and his academic career, the International Journal of Tropical Diseases and Health, appointed Dr. Nicolás Padilla Raygoza, scholar at the University of Guanajuato (UG), as Chief Editor of such publication.
In an interview of this appointment, Dr. Padilla, professor-researcher of Campus Celayqa-Salvatierra, spoke on what represents to him as a health professional to receive the distinction, which, he said, confers him a great opportunity since he will have access to review research projects around the world made about tropical diseases.
Having the task as a content reviewer and employ research methodologies, he added, will allow me to share, first hand, with the students at the university, the findings made in the subject, besides awaking in them the interest in science and its methods.
The editorial line of the International Journal of Tropical Diseases & Health, is the divulgation of science and publish first level research on tropical medicine, public health, new medicine and methods of evaluation, treatment, prevention and control of diseases, in addition, equipment and latest technology in the matter of health.
Research on tropical diseases includes dengue, hemorrhagic fever, malaria, yellow fever, Ebola, influenza, meningitis, cholera, tuberculosis, hepatitis, amoebiasis, among many others mentioned the doctor.
Dr. Padilla is a renowned scholar at the University of Guanajuato for 26 years, and through time he has grown as researcher and has helped the growth and formation of countless students, according his record.
In the interview, he showed his passion for research, for science and for the work within the University of Guanajuato; but above all, he is enthusiastic for the possibility for young students at the University, to be able to divulge their research in publications of this level, at a very low cost and preserving their ownership rights, since the appointment grant this benefit among others.
Nicolás Padilla Raygoza is an expert in chronic degenerative diseases, he is a full-time professor at the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics, of the Division of Health Sciences and Engineering and has in his record a good number of recognitions, patents and awards for his performance, such as the Academic Excellence Award UBSA 2016.
As part of his job as Chief Editor, Dr. Nicolás Padilla will advise the work made by the group of editors and magazine reviewers, and personally he will make the periodic review of the articles sent to the magazine by the researchers around the world seeking a chance to publish.
As member of the editorial team, he will share credits with the Prof. William Ebomoyi of the Department of Health Sciences of Chicago State University, for the three years the appointment lasts.
