Celaya, Gto., August 8, 2017.- The Department of Health of Guanajuato (SSG) estimated that two of the projects that participated in the summon for research projects in the modality of mental health, deserved a recognition and support for logically, structured and with scientific rigor addressing the attention for these diseases.
The first of the research projects in addictions, is a finished project called. "Eficacia del tratamiento cognitivo conductual enfocado a redes de apoyo a pacientes adictos" (Efficiency of the cognitive behavioral treatment focused on support networks for addicted patients), with which Campus Celaya-Salvatierra obtained the first place, and the second and third places were for projects of the University of Guanajuato as well.
This summon was open to participants from all levels and it was the research of the student Diana Laura López Navarro, of the degree in Psychology the one who obtained the first place, receiving an economic aid for the quantity of $53,400 MXN, which stimulates their dedication and effort and will make all the possible to execute project.
While talking about the project, the Prof. Dr. Herlinda Aguilar, of the Department of Clinical Nursing, who advised Diana Laura, mentioned that just as addictions, violence, anxiety, depression and stress are topics of mental health that need to be researched to provide alternative treatments, in this case through cognitive behavioral psychology, which allows to mold behaviors and main beliefs.
Through this discipline, she said, it is possible to work with the patient on self-confidence, auto control, and self-esteem and "we consider that focusing the treatment in the family of the addicted patients, we are making a positive influence in their family and social ambiences."
The second project that participated in the summon of research projects, bachelor degree; and obtained the third place with the topic "Intervención cognitivo conductual en estrés y ansiedad laboral en personal del CAISES San Miguel Allende" (Cognitive behavioral intervention in work stress and anxiety in the personnel at CAISES San Miguel Allende), project made by Rocío Cristina Guillén Ruíz and Leonardo Antonio Ramírez Bautista, students graduated from the Psychology degree.
The proposed intervention model in the project, obtained favorable results in the work group of reference, because it proved a decrease in the levels of stress and anxiety in patients of the CAISES (Comprehensive Center of Attention in Health Essential Services) of the Guanajuato Department of Health.
The results from this intervention experience that emerges from the design of the research project made by Rocío Guillén and Leonardo Ramírez, works for future mental health professionals to take this as a reference and a guide for interventions in situations and populations with the same characteristics, although, "no population has the exact same characteristics, it is necessary to diagnose and chose the model that can be applicable in the treatment group."
The work of students had the advice of the professors Dr. Herlinda Aguilar Zavala and Dr. Jazmín Alejandra Quintero Hernández, who supported the students during the design and concretion of projects and guided them for the three months that lasted the intervention in CAISES.
This is how the Guanajuato Department of Health recognized the excellence of the research work started by the students at Campus Celaya-Salvatierra of the University of Guanajuato.
