Guanajuato, Gto., August 14, 2017.- The University of Guanajuato (UG) was chosen to organize the XXXIX Encounter of the Mexican Academy of Research and Teaching in Chemical Engineering, the most important event in its branch in our country, which gathers researchers of Mexico and other countries.

This last 39 years, the dynamic of this encounter's celebration indicates that one year the Academy organizes the event and the next is organized together with a university of their roster. The most recent was the "Tecnológico de Celaya", while UG hadn't done so since 2000.

But last May, the scholars decided for the University of Guanajuato to be the organizing institution, who competed against the Universidad Veracruzana.

These encounters are also a platform to diffuse the academic programs, hencem, the presentation of the candidate from the Department of Chemical Engineering of the Division of Natural and Exact Sciences (DCNE) of Campus Guanajuato, had the total support of the Campus and General Rectories.

That was revealed in an interview by the members of the organizing committee: Dr. Juan Gabriel Segovia Hernández, professor-researcher and president of the committee; Dr. Fernando Israel Gómez Castro, professor-researcher, coordinator of the Degree in Chemical Engineering and speaker of teaching of the Mexican Academy and Dr. Eduardo Sánchez Ramírez.

They explained that the main objective is to organize the academic part, from a central topic to the national and international guests, since it is a big event which receives nearly a thousand people and lasts four days, in which the academic sessions go from 9am until 7pm, and simultaneously, nine talks are going on.

The venue is yet to be defines and will be held in the first or second week of May 2018, but is being organized since now because they want people of the highest level in the world, great prestige researchers to attend.

The theme will verse on the idea that chemical engineering is a motor for innovation, since the Department of Chemical Engineering at DCNE, the lines they work are usually these: bio fuels, cleaner, more efficient, cheap, environment friendly processes.

After being questioned, they commented that within the sponsors is FEMSA, who every year sponsors the national award of chemical engineering in food and considers the congress a right forum.

Likewise, researchers throughout the country bring their projects because it is the only chemical engineering platform in Mexico and everyone wants to show their research, which results to be very productive and even generates student mobility and seminars and courses in all participant institutions.

This also helps to divulge the academic programs at UG and offer a national and international platform.

Dr. Segovia Hernández explained that within the group of universities that compose the Mexican Academy, UG scholars will always be supporting and participating in the board, and even have taken a prevalent place as Dr. Salvador Hernández, who was national president of the academy.

Also, Dr. Juan Gabriel Segovia, two periods ago, was responsible for this important organism, so he is pleased to carry the name of the University of Guanajuato.
