Guanajuato, Gto., August 11, 2017.- César Augusto Tezcucano, student at the University of Guanajuato (UG) won the Youth's Municipal Award of Irapuato 2017, in the category of Social Commitment.

César studies the fifth semester of the degree in International Relationships at UG, place which –according his words—have given him the necessary tools to develop professional and academically, without forgetting about commitment and social responsibility for the construction of a wellbeing environment.

In an interview, the college student expressed to be very excited and motivated to have won the award, "it is an unforgettable experience which encourages me to continue working everyday more in favor of society."

The invitation to participate in the contest was through a friend when he saw the had what it takes to run for, "a friend told me that I fitted in the profile, so I enrolled and sent my social and leadership career next to other project that fit in the category of Social Commitment."

To obtain the award, the jury qualified the career of social labor throughout the life from the postulants and a project to implement to improve the city of Irapuato.

Last year, the student of the University of Guanajuato made a volunteer in Pereira, Colombia, where he worked with children in situation of drug addition, prostitution and violence.

Likewise, he has created social projects in different organized groups such as "Foundation Ri", Youth Guanajuato", "Red líder", and the "National Council of Students". In addition, won the summon "Hands for the world" issued by the Government of the State of Guanajuato, thanks to this, he had a scholarship in the summer to develop a social project in the province of Carignano, Italy.

In Italy, he worked with the association "Giovani Insieme" in the palace of Villabona Carignano, re-structuring the facilities and working during the morning in a musical camp for young refugees.

At the end, César Augusto Tezcucano gave a message to all the students to have new challenges and defy adversities in favor of their community. "I invite you to dream big, I believe that we can make great things. Everything can be achieved with attitude and commitment."
