Guanajuato, Gto., August 17, 2017.- In the brink of four years of existence, the Professorship José Revueltas of the University of Guanajuato (UG), has built an academic work network that has consolidated the studies about the relationship between philosophy and literature.

The work done by the professorship's responsible, both from the Department of Spanish Languages and the Department of Philosophy, homages one of the most important writers in Mexico, a thinker who addressed different topics in his work, which is not only literary, but comprehends a historical, political and philosophical thinking.

Dr. Aureliano Ortega Esquivel, one of the overseers for the professorship, highlighted that José Revueltas, has a great influence as thinker, as well as a scholar and critic of the regime and Mexican history. He was a radical communist, with a political ideology that broke paradigms, hence, one of the objectives developed by the professorship, is to rescue the philosophical and political work of the Revueltas' thinking, at the same time of divulging his literary work.

Another of the professorship's functions, is to encourage the discussion and reflection towards topics of literature and philosophy, reason why, the "II International Journeys of Philosophy and Literature of the Professorship José Revueltas" are about to begin, they will be held from August 23 to 25 with tables for reflection, conferences and talks in the Euquerio Guerrero Auditorium of UG from 10:00 to 14:15. The book presentations will be held at 19:00 in the Inundación Forum.

"The Journeys are the way we top a year's work with the professorship, where we invite researchers and colleagues close the discussion between philosophy and literature or experts in the work of José Revueltas. This time, we will have guests from the Universidad Veracruzana, The George Washington University, among others. A community of outstanding researchers will be present, they form a varied program composed by topics of literature, history, and philosophical thinking", mentioned Dr. Aureliano Ortega.

Before the beginning of the talks and editorial presentations, there will be a course called "Sobre narraciones de desplazamiento" by Dr. Christopher Britt, on August 21 and 22 from 10:00 to 13:00 in the Meeting Room at the Department of Languages.

It is important to mention that, the Professorship José Revueltas began thanks to Dr. Aureliano Ortega Esquivel's initiative from the Department of Philosophy, and Dr. Elba Margarita Sánchez Rolón, who back then worked in the Department of Spanish Languages. "Dr. Elba and I coincided in our taste for José Revueltas, it then emerged the summon from the Direction of Support for Research and Postgraduate of UG, we both wrote the project and it was selected in 2014, then several colleagues joined. The professorship was thought as a merely academic organization that demands the permanent contact among its members and make us work all the year in related topics, that's the professorship, a space for collaboration, of production and continuous reflection."

In addition of the academic activities as specialization courses, seminars, conferences and artistic presentations, the professorship José Revueltas has also published several research articles and large quantity of books, 18 editorial works published and are working in four or six more books.

Some of the titles they have published are: "Al encuentro del sentido: Diálogos entre la literatura y filosofía" coordinated by Lilia Solórzano; "El dispositivo sexo-género" by Cuauhtémoc N. Hernández; "Constelaciones y campos de fuerza" by Javier Corona; "Espacio y capital" by Carlos Oliva Mendoza, just to mention some.
