concursan-125-proyectos-estudiantiles-ug-ugtoGuanajuato, Gto., August 24, 2017.- With a total of 125 student projects at high school, college and postgraduate levels, the University of Guanajuato (UG) made the 12th edition of the Contests of Creativity and Innovation, in collaboration with the Mexican Institute of the Industrial Property (IMPI).

With this number of registered projects and around 185 students and 40 professors participating in the technological, industrial, environmental, educational, cultural and health sectors, this contest reaches a historical maximum since its creation in 2005.

The high school students competed in the categories of Social project and Business project, while the college students competed in the categories Social project, Business project, Information Technologies, Invention bachelor level and Invention postgraduate level.

In the category of Social Project at high school level (NMS, the project "Piel de agave" resulted winner, from Salamanca HS, with a team composed by Jesús Ezequiel Ojeda, Francisco Javier Moreno Vázquez & Aldair Aminadi Morales Banda.

In the category of Business project at high school level, the first place was taken by the project "Volver a nacer", of Leon HS, where Andrea Lucía Villaseñor Lara, Ilse Paulina Núñez Sánchez, Isis Mora Ramírez & Susana Esparza González de la Cruz participated.

In the category of Social entrepreneurship, college level, the first place was for the project "Vínculo Comunitario UG", from the student Fernando Gómez Guerrero, of Campus Celaya-Salvatierra.

Likewise, in the category Business Project: New products, college level, the young students Gabriel Núñez Mora & Oscar Alejandro López Núñez, of the Division of Natural and Exact Sciences, Campus Guanajuato, got the first place with the project "Chocolate artisanal Estrella."

Also, in the category Business project: Services, college level, the first place was for the project "Bri-Ho Glam Camping", from the young Denys Andrea Barradas Nieto, of the Division of Architecture, Art and Design, Campus Guanajuato.

On the other hand, in the category Information Technologies, the first place was for the project "Adabot", by the team composed by Rodolfo Ferro Pérez & Ricardo Mirón Torres, students at the Division of Natural and Exact Sciences, Campus Guanajuato.

Lastly, in the category of invention, the project "Sistema Médico de Tecnología de Plasma" obtained the first place, the project is from the students Noé Andrés Pérez Ayala, María José Fonseca, Luis Salvador Valle, Jovani Guadalupe Hernández.

Accompanied by university authorities, the President of the University of Guanajuato, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, highlighted the fundamental role of the universities in encouraging the technological creativity and its application in the environment of each one of the university members.

In the same note, the Rector of Campus Guanajuato, Dr. Teresita de Jesús Rendón Huerta Barrera and the Secretary of Innovation, Science and Higher Education, invited the participants to generate new products that prove the Mexican intelligence and identities.

Highlighting the great student participation in this edition of the Contest, the Secretary of Innovation, Science and Education, Dr. Arturo Lara López, pointed out that the goal is to finish the year with 100 patented products from UG students, with the purpose to place as a referent in the state.

Finally, the head of IMPI's Bajío Regional Office, Lic. Alejandro Raúl Salas Dominguez, commented on who participated outstood for their effort, innovation and capability to generate high reach products.
