León, Guanajuato August 24, 2017.- Alejandra Gutiérrez Aguirre and Jorge Luz Cervantes Martínez students of the degree in Physics of the University of Guanajuato (UG) make their professional social service through a consisting project in a cycle of talks for high school students called "De jóvenes para jóvenes."

"We like to divulge science, we think is something important, specially to all the youth who are about to decide their career", expressed Alejandra Gutierrez at the end of the first talk by other student of the same division and who courses the educational program of Biomedical Engineering, Jorge Alfonso Tavares Negrete.

The conference was "Construyendo órganos, biomaterials y células" which delved into tissue engineering, and the importance and use of the biomaterials and cellular cultures.

The young speaker shared among the high school students, the progress of science in the construction of organs and mentioned details of her actual research project titled "Regeneración de cartílago" which already has some study time and analysis that allowed him opportunities off academic exchange abroad.

Jorge Luz Cervantes, who is also an organizer of this science divulgation project commented about the expectations of this encounter with youth, "in a future we hope that these activities can expand not only to high school Guanajuato but other high schools in Leon and explain the degrees that are taught in the Division of Sciences and Engineering and that science can be done in the state too."

Both college students have the guidance of researchers at the Division of Sciences and Engineering of Campus Leon, Dr. Ma. Isabel Delgadillo Cano and Dr. Leonardo Álvarez Valtierra who belong to the Department of Physics Engineering and Chemical Engineering, Electronic and Biomedical, respectively.

In an interview, Dr. Valtierra commented that they seek is "for the speakers to not be professors, to be students of thesis doers or postgraduate students" he added that the students who coordinate the cycle of talks are responsible to invite the speakers, right now they have five speakers confirmed for the semester Aug-Dec.

Also present was Dr. Isabel Delgadillo, who emphasized that making these talks they hope to sensitize the students towards a scientific calling.

The talks schedule will continue at HS Leon, venue San Miguel at 10:00 and 17:00. On September 6 at 17:00, then on September 20 at 10:00, then on October 4 and 18, alternating morning and afternoon. And the last three will be done during November on the 1st by the afternoon, the 15th in the morning and finally the 29th by the afternoon.

During the beginning of these conferences, M. Sergio Augusto Romero Servín, Director of HS Leon, thanked the work and effort of the students who executed the project and said to be satisfied to receive this type of activities in the institution he leads.
