Guanajuato, Gto., August 26, 2017.- Among more than 2,000 participants throughout the country, Dasaev Muñoz González, student at the University of Guanajuato (UG), was one of the 60 selected students in the summon "Talentum – University: The leaders we need", a program to develop skills in the youth who can become agents of change.

The Interdisciplinary Program about Politic and Educational Practices (PIPE for its acronym in Spanish) from the Center of Research and Economic Teaching (CIDE), supported by Santander Bank, join efforts to contribute in the formation of leaders based strictly in the merit and other in their social and geographic origin.

Dasaev Muñoz González, student of the bachelor degree in Industrial Relationships at the Division of Economic Administrative Sciences (DCEA) was one of the young students selected to receive a training in Mexico City which will allow him to develop projects with national impact.

On the matter, he mentioned that for three months he worked with multidisciplinary team studying the citizen participation of the country, which was low, this worried them and so they collected data from their leaders, to upload the information onto a platform with topics such as public lightning, pot holes and the identification of problems or social needs.

Having identified the topics and places, they made a mapping, which could work for the next authorities to know the real needs of people and seek a solution.

The student assured that the interest to follow a positive change in his country has been one of the motors in his life, at the age of 14 he began working in different summons and spaces. One of the projects was to participate in the Council of children and youth with the municipal government of Irapuato, where they presented improvement proposals and integration activities.

He also participated in the organization Youth Attitude, which has different dimensions such as politics, social, environmental, and sports. Under these axes, they performed project for social benefit; meaning visiting rural communities and learn their needs to support them; likewise, with partners from UG in health, they made laugh therapies.

Another project was UG Kids, where, with the support of organized groups, made samples of professions to the elementary school students, so they knew the different options in life that they could have and sought forms to encourage them.

In his opinion, everybody needs to help society from their trenches, and thanked UG because it offered the opportunity to have a good education since high school.

Currently, Dasaev collaborates as Survey Ambassador for UN in Guanajuato through the program My World Mexico 2030 that works in the 17 sustainable objectives of the organization, with this work, they'll know the priorities of each person, and how they perceive their ambience, with the purpose to concentrate the information in a national level which will help the governments in the decision-making process.

He considers that currently there are many challenges in the country and the world, so it is necessary to work to help solve them. In this tone, he mentioned another subject that requires attention, which is the environment care, hence, during his two periods as Juvenile Congressman –one in 2011 and another in 2016—, he focused in this subject. For these achievements, he received the Municipal Award of Youth from Irapuato.

Finally, he thanked his family, friends and UG assured that they have been supportive in every project, so he exhorted his peers to go beyond the criticism in social media, and act to build a better society.

He made clear that it is not necessary to be leaders but it is necessary to be factors of change by being good students, good friends, a good professor "I believe that we all have common objectives, either it is contributing with UG and somehow contribute to the comprehensive development of the student, or contribute to society to which we owe", he finalized.
