Guanajuato, Gto., August 29, 2017.- With the main purpose to generate a framework of academic, scientific and technological collaboration, an agreement between the University of Guanajuato (UG) and the Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) was signed.
This signing pretends to make activities to achieve the maximum development in the formation and specialization of human resources, joint research, technological and academic development, information exchange, as well as technical or academic advisory and publications related with the energy sector.
The CRE is the coordinated regulatory organ in energy matter and, autonomously, transparent and efficiently, orients the interests of the regulated users and subjects in the development of a competitive and sustainable energy market, in benefit of society, promoting the efficient development of the sector and reliable supply of hydrocarbons and electricity.
The President of the University of Guanajuato, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, remarked that signing the agreement represents a great opportunity for both institutions, "the University must be on top of the demands from our environment, in this case, from a great reform such as the energy reform and that occurs when the institutions commit, hence, we welcome the agreement with an enormous commitment with this reform. The energy area corresponds to all areas of knowledge, reason why it represents a large opportunity for UG."
The Governor of the State of Guanajuato, Lic. Miguel Márquez Márquez, mentioned that "the energy reform breaks with the paradigm of an energy monopoly that exists in Mexico, so it means a great opportunity to develop theoretical elements and continue being competitive."
The commissioned CRE's President, Lic. Guillermo Ignacio Alcocer, thanked for the consolidated exchange between UG and CRE, since there is a need of human resources, as well as technological and academic development, exchange of information, technical or academic advisory and publications related with the energy sector.
Other arrangements in the agreement consist in: organizing, advising and coordinating students and interns from UG to develop their social service and professional practice in CRE's facilities. Also, organize and jointly make courses, seminars, conferences, symposiums, expositions, round tables, workshops, congresses and other academic events that are personal interest for UG's and CRE's personnel.
At the signing were present from CRE: The Commissioner, Dr. Luis Guillermo Pineda Bernal and the Director of Liaison with the States, Lic. Victor Manuel Álvarez Flores.
