Guanajuato, Gto., a 07 de septiembre de 2017.- Four talented students of the degree in Visual Arts of Campus Guanajuato, will represent the University of Guanajuato (UG) in the first edition of the "Bienal de la Pequeña Estampa de América Latina y el Caribe"; their work will compete with artists of Mexico and other countries.

Eva Rosas, Jorge Cárdenas, Job Solórzano & Pamela D´Liz Rocha Sánchez decided to answer the summon of the Academic Integration Network of Arts of Latin America and the Caribbean (RIAA) for such biennial that, in its first edition, will be hosted in the Universidad Central del Ecuador.

Thanks to the quality of their work, the pieces the young students sent were selected by the judges, and right away, they will be part of a collective exhibition in the host university.

Eva Rosas, a student of the sixth semester of the degree in Visual Arts of the Division of Architecture, Art and Design (DAAD), explained that the graphic, generally, is one of the disciplines she is more interested in, so the selected piece is an exploration and experimentation in color and landscape in the lost plate linography technique.

Jorge Cárdenas, who is in the fifth semester, shared that his technique is dry point, which is the closest to drawing and sent an embossed work, in wood, making holes to create texture and relief.

His work focuses on people, portraits, everyday situations, perception.

Job Solórzano, from the fourth semester, revealed that his work was made in mixed techniques: double registry of collography, dry point, and linoleum, and his topic are related to everyday situations, like a newspaper.

Finally, Pamela D'Liz Rocha Sánchez, who is in the last semester, sent an embossed piece in wood, in woodcutting technique and on trovicel, and her image is a simple composition with insects and the technique allowed her to do some embossing.

All of them were very excited when they passed the first selection of the jury for the collective exhibition, from where the winner will be picked, and it becomes a stepping stone in their resume, because it is really good to be selected in an international contest.

The prize is an itinerant individual exhibition for the winner, and the next stages will be on October 12 to declare the only prize of the jury; the individual exhibition of the winning artist, date to be scheduled with the artist and exhibit the selected works from October 12 to November 12 this year.
