se-reunen-expertos-para-hablar-sobre-patrimonio-cultural-ug-ugtoLeón, Guanajuato September 11, 2017.- With the purpose to divulge the work and research regarding the Cultural Heritage, and establish a themed collaboration network of culture and heritage, the V edition of the International University Colloquium "Let's talk about Cultural Heritage" was inaugurated. It will be held at Campus León of the University of Guanajuato in the venue Forum from September 11 – 15.

This time, the topic of the colloquium relies on the history of culture: perspectives on everyday life, mentalities, customs and collective representations.

In the inauguration message, Dr. Jose de Jesús Cordero Domínguez, who is responsible of the instance organizing the event, "Interdisciplinary studies about culture", commented that this academic event has the purpose to establish research networks in the national and international ambience to strengthen UG's line of research, as well as the University of Nariño and the University Center of Los Lagos (Cu-Lagos).

"The courses, talks and workshops of this fifth colloquium are designed for the students, to share, to acquire new knowledge, and to enrich one another", expressed Dr. Cordero.

He highlighted the collaboration agreement signed in 2016 with the University of Nariño (Colombia), which consists in an exchange of faculty and staff, students and reinforcements of research groups and new research networks.

Cu-Lagos and UG have also participated in the permanent research seminar "Myths and representations" and its researchers have participated in the permanent seminar of Culture and Heritage, which will be reflected in the publication of a book in collaboration with the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH).

The General Coordinator of Academic Development at Campus Leon, Juan Carlos Mora Hernández, representing the campus rectory; mentioned the importance of this event to develop new scientific and social research and perfect intervention methods between countries, to aid in identifying the cultural heritage.

He remarked the importance of taking measures to preserve and rehabilitate the cultural heritage and ease the creation of regional, conational, and international centers to protect the cultural heritage.

By the end of the inauguration, there was a talk "The cultural schedule: new forms to limit the cultural heritage and its management challenge" by Gerardo Sánchez Delgado, Ph.D., of the University of Nariño (Colombia).

This talk highlighted the existence of the Qhapaq Ñan as an Andean road system, as well as the identification of a cultural heritage these days and the main challenges of the cultural managers.

Juan Antonio Rodríguez González, Ph.D., Academic Secretary of the Division of Social Sciences and Humanities; Alejandro Martínez de la Rosa, Ph.D., Director of the Department of Cultural Studies at Campus León, were some of the university authorities in the inauguration. Also, Pablo Santacruz Guerrero, Ph.D., Vice President of Research, Postgraduate, and International Relationships of the University of Nariño (Colombia).

Also present were: Gerardo Sánchez Delgado, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Nariño (Colombia); Juan Pío Martínez, Ph.D., responsible of the academic body Culture and Society of the University of Guadalajara (Cu-Lagos); and members of the academic body Interdisciplinary studies of Culture: Carlota Meneses Sánchez, Ph.D., Alejandro Mercado Villalobos, Ph.D., and Mónica Elivier Sánchez González, Ph.D., all of them are researchers at the Division of Social Sciences and Humanities.

The activities of this colloquium are: conferences, workshops, a plastic arts exhibition called "The history of the body" and a musical presentation by Diego Palacios from the University of Nariño (Colombia).
