Guanajuato, Gto., September 21, 2017.- From September 25th to October 7th, the II Theatre Festival and Dramatic Text Regional Encounter, will occur to homage the founder of the Theatre of the University of Guanajuato, Enrique Ruelas Espinosa; this event is organized by the Direction of Cultural Extension.

This was announced in a press conference where they explained the details of the Festival, which will have workshops, conferences and presentations.

The Director of Cultural Extension, Dr. Sara Julsrud López, invited all the community to participate in the homage for Enrique Ruelas, initiator of the International Cervantine Festival; to enjoy the events that were prepared to exhibit a quality selection of dramatic art.

The Director of the Division of Architecture, Art and Design, Dr. Francisco Javier González Compeán, congratulated the university community for organizing and being part of the artistic and cultural activities of the educational institutions, because through theatrical presentations, it creates also a direct connection with society.

The Director of University Theatre, Hugo Gamba Briones, celebrated the union of the theatrical groups from the Direction of Cultural Extension so the Festival could happen. Also, the representative of the Theatre Festival, Alejandro García, thanked the support from the University of Guanajuato (UG), professors and students from the degree in Scenic Arts who are part of the program with theatre plays.

The Coordinator of Artistic Groups, Guadalupe García mentioned that in the II Theatre Festival and Dramatic Text Regional Encounter, there will be performance, dramaturgy and puppet workshops. They will be hosted in the Cultural Center ISSSTE, UG's Arts building and the Cultural Center Mariel.

Likewise, there will be talks about dramatic genres, theatre semiotic, Mexican contemporary dramaturgy, puppet theater, and the legacy of Enrique Ruelas, just to mention some, which will be dictated by several experts.

Regarding the presentations, there will be a play called "Blanco, todo limpio. El hombre que solía aguantar," winning play of the first summon of dramaturgy of the Theatre Festival 2016. Also, there will be a dramatized lecture "El illegal" written and directed by Juan José Prado Viramontes, among other plays.

In addition, there will be an editorial presentation of the magazine "Letras versales", which compiles the chosen plays from the first dramaturgy summon 2016. To finalize, there will be a mass-concert service to homage Enrique Ruelas for his XXX death anniversary at the Basilic of Our Lady of Guanajuato. It will have the participation of UG's Choir, the Rondalla Señorial, Rondalla Santa Fe and UG's Estudiantina.

It is worthy to mention, the tickets for the play will be in specie, the Festival joins the collection of supplies for the people affected by the recent earthquakes that occurred in our country.
