Guanajuato, Gto., September 22, 2017.- Authorities of the University of Guanajuato (UG) and the State Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, signed a Mutual Collaboration Agreement to promote the mobility of the community members in both institutions.

UG's President, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, considered as one of the main responsibilities of the university authorities is to generate synergy between educational institutions, and so, from the academy, propitiate a social and political synergy.

Also, he expressed the convenience to generate a more specific liaison with the educational program in health, where both institutions have a lot of potential.

The President of the State Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Dr. Luis Pedro San Gil Jotuca, celebrated this agreement of technical and scientific cooperation that eases the academic exchange, and allows to benefit the student community, therefore, both countries.

A special was the General Director of the Strategic Liaison of the National Association of Universities and Higher Educations Institutions (ANUIES), who mentioned that the mobility contributes to forming a global labor force, and this impacts the competitiveness in the countries and the states, so he congratulated the presidents, Guerrero Agripino and San Gil Jotuca.

At the beginning of the event, the Director of International Relationships and Academic Collaboration, Dr. Sergio Antonio Silva Muñoz, exposed that the coincidence of specialty areas –Health sciences, social sciences, natural and exact sciences—which both institutions offer, have allowed the students' mobility and reaffirmed the interest of UG to expand agreements and offer opportunities for its workers as well.

It is worthy to mention that, the University of Guanajuato (UG) and the State Federal University of Rio de Janeiro have a collaboration agreement since 2012, and the signing of this new agreement, a specific mobility agreement will derive.

At the ceremony were also present; UG's Academic Secretary, Dr. Raúl Arias Lovillo; and the Chief of Agreements, M. Virginie Sophie Pautrat.
