
Guanajuato, Gto., October 2, 2017.- With the purpose to identify the bases for educational research, especially research for teaching, the Seminar-Workshop "Basic principles of research for teaching" was held. The latter was organized by the Department of Education of the University of Guanajuato (UG) with the High School College (CNMS) and the Direction of Academic Affairs.
The event had a master exhibit, reading of selected texts and the professors who attended the seminar, exchanged experiences about the vision of being teachers. Also, they spoke about their relationship with research, to apply it in educational contexts that need a reflection-transformation exercise on teaching practices.
This Workshop-Seminar was for full time professors of the Department of Education and full time and part time professors of the high school college.
In the beginning, there was a conference by Dr. María Bertha Fortoul Ollivier, who is an expert in the topic of forming teachers for basic education, as well as evaluating syllabuses and institutional negotiation.
After the talk, they addressed the topic of teaching practice and the exercise of research, as well as the main methodological focuses for the research of the teaching practice.
It is precise to mention that, in the opening event, Dr. Mireya Martí Reyes, Director of the Department of Education, welcomed the attendants, encouraging both professors and students to stimulate creativity and the critic spirit to have a full academic development.
The Academic Secretary of the High School College, Dr. Jesús Raúl Lugo Martínez, representing CNMS's Director, Dr. J. Merced Rizo Carmona, highlighted the importance for professors to train with new didactic strategies every day, so they can strengthen both the principles of research and teaching.
Lastly, the Director of Academic Affairs, M. Francisco J. Pérez Arredondo, also mentioned that teaching goes with research, so he encouraged all professors to make joint work to combine teaching with the generation of knowledge.
