Guanajuato, Gto., October 7, 2017.- The play "Blanco, todo limpio. El hombre que solía aguantar" was a success in the 2nd Festival of Theater and Regional Encounter of Dramatic Text, play hosted by the Division of Architecture, Art and Design (DAAD), Art Company of Campus Guanajuato and the degree in Scenic Arts.
The play had the participation of the dramaturge and director of the play, Lorenie Jiménez Moedano, overseer of the subject from which the play was created, as well as the students from the seventh semester: Montserrat Diego Fajardo, Marco Antonio Mendiola Sánchez and Aldo Trujillo Horta.
In an interview with both the director and the actors, they revealed that it is the 2nd Edition of the Festival of Theatre and Regional Encounter of Dramatic Text, organized by the Coordination of artistic groups of the Direction of Cultural Extention, in collaboration with DAAD, the Company of Arts of Campus Guanajuato and the degree in Scenic Arts.
Mrs. Jiménez explained that from September 19 to October 1, 2016, there was a selection of dramatic texts for their publishing and, among the chosen ones was "Blanco, todo limpio. El hombre que solía aguantar", from her authorship, while in the subject "On stage II" of the degree in Scenic Arts, in the period Jan-Jun 2017 there was a process of mounting the text, which the result was presented as part of festival at the Mesón de San Antonio.
Also, she confirmed that two of the students wish to obtain their degree with this play, through the modality of "Execution of an artistic play."
In a review of the play, she shared it is about a boy who is an unknown space with a person he doesn't know and doesn't why is he there nor he can leave, with the figure of his father present all the time.
It is an agile play, focused on the physical and emotional work of the actors, and uses a devastating story that confronts the innocence of a children with an adult perverted and cold world. The text exposes the encounter of a Niní boy, and a man he doesn't know, Otto, in an undetermined space. Little by little, the story unveils and the space is a morgue and the man is the one in charge of preparing his body for the wake.
The show highlights elements suggested in the text. For example, through the constant and silent presence of the father, or the use of several styles to represent, from the figurative for dialogue moments between the characters, to the theater dance to make their internal worlds visible.
Mrs. Jiménez revealed that this play emerged from a dramaturgy workshop she took when she was studying Scenic Arts and should go to shocking places, such as cemeteries, morgues, where she had the opportunity to ask a man about his work, and so the text, was created.
The student of Scenic Arts, Marco Mendiola, shared that playing Niní was very touching, feeling the vulnerability of lonely boy abused by his father and on the brink of despair, he kills himself.
Montserrat Diego, who plays Otto, must reflect the solitude of a man –as an actress she turns into a woman—whose work is to prepare the bodies and works full-time in the morgue. Otto fears his own feelings, she said, but understands what happened and although initially, there's a rejection for Niní, at the end, he gives him all the love he needs.
Both actors revealed that the play pretends to complain about the high indexes of sexual assault to children in our country and that we all "are ok" with something in life.
The play was presented in the II Festival of Theater and Regional Encounter od Dramatic Text past September 25th at the Meson de San Antonio, but soon it will have more dates.
