
Guanajuato, Gto., October 7, 2017.- The graduate of the University of Guanajuato, Armando Cano, was selected to represent the state of Guanajuato in the 5th Mexican Fashion Show in Barcelona.
Armando Cano was chosen next to other 18 designers from the 59 proposals that were presented to participate in the show.
The main inspiration for this edition is "Great Mexican Painters and Muralists", and the secondary topic is "Free Mexican design", in the categories Adult Lady-Gentleman: Textile, Shoe, Complements (bags, accessories, jewelry). The event will be held from October 10 to 16.
In an interview, Armando Cano mentioned that the 5th Mexican Fashion Show is organized by the Cultural Mexican-Catalan Association of Barcelona, Spain, and the organizing committee in Mexico through FONARTEX, with the objective to encourage and position the Mexican identity in an international level.
The graduate studied International Trade at the University of Guanajuato with a double degree in France, and marketing specialization in the Groupe Sup de Co la Rochelle Université. In addition of the mentioned degree, Cano combined his studies with design, so he started a jewelry and a tailor shop for gentleman made with rebozo.
Armando mentioned that one of his main objectives at the beginning of his brand, was to homage one of the most traditional and ancient piece clothing is the rebozo. Also, his work promotes the work of artisans in the state, since he asks them for the material to create his designs which are totally hand made.
Under the motto "exclusiveness at your reach", the graduate designs unique pieces of clothing accessible for people who wish to acquire them, since it desires to divulge the roots of Mexico in the universe.
To conclude, he expressed to be thrilled for travelling to Barcelona and attend as a guest designer to the 5th Mexican Fashion Show, because he will encourage the design made in our country abroad, "when you set yourself a goal, you can achieve it. It all becomes real if you work hard enough", so he invited all the student community of the University of Guanajuato to continue with their dreams and build a better society.
Armando is a designer by conviction and creative entrepreneur. In August 2016, he received the Youth Municipal Award in Guanajuato, in the category "Entrepreneur ingenious". In 2009, received an award for young entrepreneurs granted by the State Government representing the University of Guanajuato.
