
Guanajuato, Gto., October 5, 2017.- Students, graduates and professors of the Department of Visual Arts of the University of Guanajuato (UG), participate in important event in two outstanding educational institutions of Costa Rica.
Gilberto López Elías, Coordinator of Extension of the Department of Visual Arts of Campus Guanajuato explained that the events where the college students gathered are: the celebration of the 120th anniversary of the School of Plastic Arts of the University of Costa Rica and the Festival FOTOVERITAS 2017, organized by the School of Image of the Veritas University.
Since September 27th, until October 5th, the Festival FOTOVERITAS 2017 was held, and it had the phot exhibit "Fisonomías", which integrates works from the students Luisa Fernanda Castrejón, Hernán González, Ramsés Ruiz, Israel Garay, Oscar Medrano; the graduates Gustavo Ceballos & Daniel García and the professor Areli Vargas Colmenero, who is also a curator of the exhibit.
Complementary to the photo exhibit, there was a conversation regarding the exhibit from the 8 participants and there will be a workshop called "Alternative Processes for Photography", taught by Bárbara Gamiño Alvarado.
On the other hand, from September 28 to October 3, the University of Costa Rica celebrated the 120th anniversary of the School of Plastic Arts and a committee of the Division of Architecture, Art and Design of Campus Guanajuato participated in a series of theoretical-practical activities where they exchanged activities in the trend of non-toxic engraving.
The presence of the representatives of the University of Guanajuato in such activities, contemplated three workshops: "Introduction to the Technique of Moku-hanga", taught by Angélica Escárcega, "Moku-Lito", taught by Jorge Francisco Hernández Aldama and "Cianotipia" by Bárbara Gamiño Alvarado.
They also participated in the Amiguettti Class of Angélica Escárcega and prof. Jorge Francisco Hernández Aldama.
In addition, they set up the graphic exhibit "Trazo Incisivo" where 10 members of the community of the Department of Visual Arts participated, they were: the professor Jorge Francisco Hernández Aldama; the students Pamela D´Liz Rocha Sánchez, Felipe de Jesús Hernández Valdez y los egresados Ana Nava, Cristina Medina, Georgina Gómez, Olimpia Gutiérrez, Paulina Romero, Sergio Granados, Álvaro Almanza, Maximiliano Álvarez.
