Guanajuato, Gto., October 10, 2017.- A total of 53 students of the Division of Law, Politics and Government (DDPG) of Campus Guanajuato of UG, were recognized during the Award Ceremony for Academic Excellence, in which they also made a special mention to the young students who had an outstanding performance outside and raised the prestige of the state's university.
Representing UG's President, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, Dr. Jorge Alberto Romero Hidalgo, Secretary of Management and Development, congratulated the students for this important achievement, "a result of their capability, effort and commitment for their professional formation", he said, while highlighting that their names are now linked to the memory of remarkable scholars who gave glory and honor to this university.
Same as the Law students, he congratulated the students of the degrees in Political Science and Public Administration, because they have consolidated these educational programs and position them as academic referents of quality and national and international prestige, as well as their critical and constructive knowledge that makes UG, their parents, their professors and personnel, proud.
Hence, he invited them to see the awards as starting points of their professional formation and from now on, set higher goals and do thing in benefit of society, taking with them the essence of the legendary hive.
In her opportunity and on behalf of the Rector of Campus Guanajuato, Dr. Teresita de Jesús Rendón Huerta Barrera, M. Miguel Ángel Cervantes Flores, legal advisor of Campus Guanajuato, sustained that this was a very emotional day for the university community, because the academic excellence of the three departments of the division are recognized.
Campus Guanajuato is pleased with these achievements and they expect for their talent to be a role model for other young members, she said, and do not settle for this award, although well deserved, every glory is ephemeral and must be at the noble service of their fellow men and women.
Dr. Eduardo Pérez Alonso, Director of the Division of Law, Politics and Government, also gave a message where he expressed to be satisfied because UG recognizes the results of the academic success which is represented by the students to the academic programs of majors and postgraduates and who have outstood outside.
It is worthy to mention that, the award "Maestro Antonio Torres Gómez" was given to the students of the degree in Law; the award "M. Cuauhtémoc Ojeda Rodríguez" to the best average in the generation 2012-2017" of the Law degree and an award for the best group average in the same degree in the period Jan-Jun 2017, to the sixth semester represented by the student Valeria González Saldaña.
The student Joceline Morales Raya spoke on behalf of the awarded law students.
After the award for the Academic Excellence of the Political Science degree, an award for the best group average in the period Jan-Jun 2017 and on behalf of his peers, Hazael Abisúa Ramírez Ledezma spoke.
Also, an award for the Academic Excellence for the degree in Public Administration, the award for the best group average of the degree in the period Jan-Jun 2017 and the student Cynthia Lourdes Rodríguez Macías spoke.
Likewise, there were awards for the best GPAs of the educational programs of the postgraduates in the Master degree in Management, Development and Government, Master degree in Political Analysis, and there was an special mention to the student Monicamiguel Muñoz, from the tenth semester of Law, winner of the bronze medal in the International Sambo and Combat Sambo Tournament in London; to the new division's board; to the new oral litigation team, to the new debate team and to the student community for their active participation in the donation of supplies for the victims in disaster zones.
At the ceremony were also present: Dr. Leandro Eduardo Astraín Bañuelos, Director of the Department of Law, Dr. Fernando Díaz Pérez, Director of the Department of Public Management, and Dr. Carlos Román Cordourier Real, Director of the Department of Political Studies and Government, as well as professors, family and friends.
