Salamanca, Gto., October 14, 2017.- The Division of Engineering (DICIS) of the University of Guanajuato (UG) held the First National Congress of Applied Computing Sciences, which had conferences, workshops and networking to share the knowledge and most recent progress in this discipline, and establish collaborations links between the participants.
The Congress was made by an initiative of the student branch of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) presided by the student Martín de León Ramírez, under the coordination of Dr. Mario Alberto Ibarra Manzano, Director of the Department of Electronic Engineering and with the presence of M. Javier Magaña Hernández, president of IEEE's Guanajuato Chapter.
For two days, the college students met the most recent in software development, artificial intelligence, neural networks, as well as options for entrepreneurism in information and communication technologies.
The Director of the Division of Engineering, Victor Ayala Ramírez, inaugurated the Congress that began with the conference "Applications of the convolutional neural networks" by José Ruiz Pinales, followed by a software development workshop with Sergio Brito, CEO of Roswell Inc.
Marcel Stöckli, CEO and producer at GameCoder Studio presented to the students the "Manual to survive virtual reality" and Dr. Alejandro Espinosa Calderón, Coordinator of the Program Agriculture and Nourishment – Union of Scientists Committed to Society, offered the topic "Optics + mathematics + electronics + plants = Non-invasive measurement of the photosynthesis."
Professor of Campus Irapuato – Salamanca of UG collaborated with talks, like the one from Raúl Enrique Sánchez Yáñez, who gave the talk "An approximation to the vision by computer." The talk "Computing science in the development of autonomous aerial vehicles", was given by Dr. Juan Pablo Ramírez Paredes and Gustavo Cerda Villafaña offered the talk "XC8 language for PIC microcontrollers".
The participants learned about the trends in the development of web applications by José Jesús Sánchez Farías of the Instituto Tecnológico de Celaya; of monitoring and diagnostic in dynamic systems faults, with René de Jesús Romero Troncoso and of applications to analyze AI techniques of coronary angiograms to analyze X-Rays, with Iván Cruz Aceves of the Instituto Tecnológico de León.
