León, Gto., October 17, 2017.- The Campus León of the University of Guanajuato (UG), through the Language Unit, next November 17 will receive a recognition as a member of the TOEFL Young Students Series community, for their outstanding trajectory in teaching English. This distinction is granted to official centers who apply TOEFL ITP, Primary and TOEFL Junior in an international level.
In an interview, Magdalena González Rendón, responsible of the Language Unit of Campus León of UG, mentioned that "to obtain this award, it is necessary to fulfill the criteria required such as having the appropriate installations for teaching, as well as trained personnel to offer the service and have a diffusion program for the exam applications.
The award event will be held in the Thomas Jefferson Hall of the Benjamin Franklin Library in the United States of America Embassy in Mexico City.
It is important to mention that the Language Unit, being an official venue, applies an average of 50 exams per month to internal and external students; and the Institutional TOEFL program evaluates the domain of English in an intermediate and advanced level, which evaluates the skills for listening and comprehension, written expression and grammar structure, as well as reading and comprehension.
The Language Unit has an 18-year trajectory, and it is a referent in language teaching. Since February 2011, UG's Campus León, signed an agreement with the Institute of International Education of the Educational Testing Service, which is renewed every year; this ensures the quality of teaching English.
Currently, the Language Unit has five venues in the city of León, Aquiles Serdán, Forum, San Carlos, Jerez and Campestre. In them, they teach German, French, Italian, English, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, Chinese, Spanish for Foreigners and Nahuatl.
