According the last measurment of QS World University Ranking Latin America, UG placed in the number 99

Guanajuato, Gto. October 27, 2017.- The University of Guanajuato (UG) achieved its best position in the QS Latin America 2018 Ranking, by reaching the 99 places and scale two places than the previous position.

The QS World University Rankings Latin American Region, is an annual ordnance of the most important universities of Latin America submitted to a hierarchy criterion. A total of 385 of higher education institutions in Latin America were reviewed by this ranking.

Compared to the other universities in the country, evaluated in this ranking, Ug went up three places, reaching the number 13.

According with the QS Ranking website, the methodology used to elaborate the national ranking uses five basic criteria: Impact of the research and productivity, commitment with teaching, employability, online impact and, since the 2016/17 edition, internationalization; however, it preserves the key indicators of the global classification, such as Academic Reputation, Reputation of the Employer and Student-Professor ratio, plus a set of carefully designed performance measures for the region.

Based on the results of the 2018 Ranking, and in comparison, with last year's ranking, the University of Guanajuato had an important progress in indicators such as personnel with a Ph.D., that had an increment from 47.8 to 60.8, online impact incremented from 30 to 50.8, the international research network increased from 77.6 to 81.1 and the publications per scholar increased from 53.3 to 53.5.
