Guanajuato, Gto., November 2, 2017.- As part of eUGreka's activities, the program of scientific divulgation of the University of Guanajuato (UG), carried out the activity Alchemy night, from the cauldron to the lab.

This event, was organized by the Direction of Support for Research and Postgraduate (DAIP), who also created and encouraged the scientific divulgation program.

To recreate a "Halloween" atmosphere, Alchemy night... was held at the Florencio Antillón park, the venue that framed the perfect ambient in which through experiments, they told the transition from alchemy to chemistry.

The presence of students and researchers was delightful, there were many people interested in the atmosphere, since the professors and some students made a demonstration of experiments that told how alchemy became a science.

Actions like this one, Alchemy night, from the cauldron to the lab, are made with the purpose to show, in a fun way, how interesting and amazing can science and knowledge be.

Alchemy is defined as a "set of speculations and experiences, relative to transmutations of the matter, which influenced in the origin of Chemistry as a science and the main purposes were to search the philosopher's stone and he universal panacea."

At the event, they referred that initially, Chemistry was known as Magic, and in the middle age, the scientists were known as alchemists, then, by integrating physics and math to the study of the origin of things, the alchemists were then called, chemists.
