Guanajuato, Gto., November 1, 2017.- The opening of the Quantum Info, Guanajuato 2017, an event organized by researchers of the University of Guanajuato (UG), was held with the purpose to know the information's quantum treatment through seminars and workshops given by international experts.
This initiative will be held from November 1 to 6, and it is created with the support from the Department of Physics of the Division of Sciences and Engineering of Campus León.
In those days, they will address topics such as computing, storage (flash drives), cryptography, metrology, imagology, among others, although, this time, there will be a special emphasis in cryptography.
Quantum Info, Guanajuato 2017's Coordinator, Dr. José Luis Lucio Martínez, welcomed all the participants and highlighted that the University of Guanajuato possesses a genuine interest for research and technological development, reason why, the university uses these spaces to contribute in the generation of knowledge, in this case, about quantum information.
Representing the President of the University of Guanajuato, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, UG's Academic Secretary, Dr. Raúl Arias Lovillo, talked about the importance the topic of internationalization has in the university, since research and technological development have no frontiers and needs a constant collaboration. He indicated that it is also important to form human resources in strategic areas for the country.
To formally open the event, the Rector of Campus Leon, Dr. Carlos Hidalgo Valadez, mentioned that this academic act has the presence of renowned institutions such as the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, the Instituto Politécnico Nacional, the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California, the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México, the Tec de Monterrey, and the Ottawa University and the Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
Also, these personalities were at the presidium: The Director of the Division of Sciences and Engineering, Dr. David Yves Ghislaind Delepine and the Director of Support for Research and Postgraduate, Dr. Mauro Napsuciale Mendivil.
